Computers, designing websites, internet marketing, anything Internet related really. Interesting conversation, weird people, reading end-of-the-world type books, reading just about everything else, hiking, camping, fishing, playing with my dogs, hanging out with my husband and my family, learning new things, and lots of other stuff too numerous to list. Ooh, a butterfly!
Music
I LOVE Music. First and Foremost, I absolutely ADORE Bjork. I dig Regina Spektor almost as much as I dig Bjork.
Also very high on my list are Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Cranberries, Alanis Morrisette, Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, The Doors, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Janis Joplin! I also love Cibo Matto, Del tha Funky Homosapien, 10,000 Maniacs and Natalie Merchant by herself as well, A Tribe Called Quest, Ani DiFranco, Annie Lennox, The Beastie Boys, Billie Joel, Cyndi Lauper, Dave Matthews Band, Dead Kennedys, Erasure, Diana Ross, Digable Planets, Edie Brickell, Faith No More, Fleetwood Mac (When Stevie was in it), Gorillaz, Greenday, Guns N Roses (the early stuff at least), Jello Biafra, Mojo Nixon, MC Hawking, Lou Reed, Negativland, Patsy Cline, Pink, Public Enemy, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, REM, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Roger Waters, Ruby, Rush, Sarah McLachlan, Sex Pistols, Sneaker Pimps, Syd Barret, Talking Heads, Tesla, Heart, The Cure, The Eagles, The Smashing Pumpkins, They Might Be Giants, Tom Waits, Tracy Chapman, U2... from my dad, I inherited a love of Van Morrison. From my mom, I inherited a love of Lionel Ritchie, Carole King, and many others. Olive, Tom Petty, Alice Cooper (his music from before I was born, and afterwards too :), the Alan Parsons Project, Alicia Keys, Jill Scott, 4 Non Blondes (they have more than 1 song you know!), Beck, Barry McGuire (his version of Eve of Destruction is one of my top 10 favorite songs ever)... No Rain by Blind Melon, The Carpenters (more a Karen fan than a John fan, but I wouldn't throw him out of a plane or anything)... Chantal Kreviazuk is pretty cool, and she does a great cover of "leaving on a jet plane", Collective Soul, Cracker, Dead Milkmen, Eurythmics, Gloria Gaynor, Jane's Addiction, Joan Baez, Kansas, Kenny Rogers, Led Zepplin, Lisa Lisa & the Cult Jam, Lisa Loeb, Macy Gray, Mary J Blige, Megadeth, Nazareth, Nelly Furtado, Olivia Newton John, Otis Redding, Paul McCartney (nothing from the last decade though.. *shudder*), the Persuasions (their version of You Are What You Is is THE COOLEST VERSION, much cooer than Zappa's version! So there nait! :), the Police, PJ Harvey, Prince, Run DMC, Arrested Development, Spandau Ballet (True is the only song I like know by them), Starship, Portishead, Afroman, The Rolling Stones, The Velvet Underground, Lou Reed, Mojo Nixon (I met him at Summerfest. He's a great guy, and he puts on a HELL of a live show!!!!), TLC, Jello Biafra, Dead Kennedys, Joan Baez, Natalie Merchant (One of the few people I've seen in Concert, Country Joe Mcdonald, the Vengaboys, Weird Al Yankovik, Willie Nelson, and a million others. :)
Movies
Heathers, But I'm a Cheerleader, Slums of Beverly Hills, LOTR Trilogy, City of Lost Children, Delicatessen, Labyrinth, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Hotel Rwanda, The Omega Man, Office Space, Falling Down, The Langoliers, Stand By Me, The Shining, The Stand, The Princess Bride, Terminator 2, Young Frankenstein, The Neverending Story, Monty Python's Life of Bryan, Kevin Smith's movies, LOTR Trilogy... I LOVE gory, cheesy horror flicks, ADORE sci-fi... Nothing makes my day more than a terrible zombedy (mmm... BRAINS!) and i'm sure i'm missing alot right now but I'm tired. :)
Television
There are a few shows I really like from various eras. The Prisoner (a really cool 70's show about "Mr. 6", a prisoner on an island known only as "The Village"), Sex & the City, Absolutely Fabulous, Roseanne, Gilmore Girls, Charmed, Will & Grace, the L Word, The Tick (the animated series), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Friends, That 70's Show, American Dad, Family Guy, Boondocks, Daria, Home Movies, Sealab 2021, South Park, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, the Oblongs (awesome canadian cartoon about a the Rich Hill People including the identical perfect "Debbies", versus the quirky Valley people, who have been deformed by years of living in the toxic waste created by the Hill people).

way too many to list... The Chronicles of Narnia, the Hobbit, LOTR Trilogy, the Harry Potter books, Douglas Adams, Robert Anton Wilson... I collect Whitewolf Changeling Sourcebooks. A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn.
I'm constantly reading books about HTML, CSS, Flash, TCP/IP, Unix, and other things I use in my work... I also read alot of networking and marketing books but they're not as interesting so they take longer to get through. ;)
I devour pretty much any well-written "end of the world" type book, I LOVE Sci-Fi, dystopian literature, etc. Books like 1984, Brave New World, Farenheit 451, We, On a Pale Horse... Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale & Oryx & Crake are probably my two favorite books, ever... there are so many things I've read and loved that it's hard to narrow it down. I could literally go on forever.
Heroes
Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Rosa Parks, and all of the courageous women (and men) everywhere who have devoted, or will devote their lives to womens' rights, human rights, and other worthy causes.

About me:
Hi! As you probably already know if you found your way here, my name is Jessica, though most people call me Jessie or Jess.
I am a: Web Designer, computer geek, music lover, bibliophile, lexophile, secular humanist, dog lover, free spirit, activist, optimistic misanthrope, and a very unique kind of hippie, among many other things!
I am a also a jack of all trades (and a master of several). For those who care about such things, my personality type is INFP.
I keep some wonky hours, so it's hard to say when you'll actually catch me online. I tend to do my best work between 6pm and 6am. I have never bought the "humans are only meant to sleep between certain hours" theory, and recently, science proved me right.
What else can I tell you... I am married to my best friend, Bob, who I met when I was 14. Talk about time flying... We have been married for just over 5 years.
We have two sweet, cuddly, (mostly) well behaved dogs who are convinced they're human, and therefore, refuse to sleep anywhere but on the bed with pillows.
Last but not least, I guess I will just mention that you should visit my websites! Buy things. Tell your friends. Help a sister out...
:)
Join Us at the 2009 NAAFA Fashion Show & Auction Dinner
Enjoy plus-size fashions at their best while you help support and celebrate 40 years of size acceptance advocacy efforts at the 2009 NAAFA Fashion Show on July 31, 2009!
This year Washington DC will take its place as the leading plus-size fashion capital of the world as we bring you the NAAFA 2009 Fashion Show & Auction Dinner being held on Friday, July 31, 2009, at the Dulles Airport Marriott. NAAFA is the world's oldest, largest civil rights organization working to improve the lives of people of size. We turn forty years old this year and are going strong with the strength we need to build a new future. This major fund raising event for our organization will feature food, fashion, music and our well known Not-So-Silent Auction.
Plus size fashion designers from around the country will present their latest collections of inspired designs. These talented designers have a sincere desire to see women return to the truth within themselves as expressed through what they wear, giving women of any age and size the opportunity to be truly fabulous. We are happy to announce that we have award winning makeup artist, Maisie Dunbar, to assist our volunteer model participants with their makeup and hair stylists from Paul Mitchell The School Virginia to finish their looks.
Be sure to bring your wallets, checkbooks and credit cards as we will showcase vendors of fashion, accessories and furniture--all catering to the plus size audience.
The event begins with dinner at 7pm on Friday, July 31, 2009. Tickets to this exciting fund raising event are $75 each for the entire fashion-filled evening and may be purchased through July 26, 2009 online by going to http://www.naafaonlin

Lee Iaccoca recalls how his father took him to see the Statue of Liberty as a child. He deeply regrets that he never took his own children. But Iacocca, 78, the retired Auto Executive, made up for that as Chairman of the Statue of Liberty Ellis Island Foundation, raising more than $500 million to restore those two landmarks. A new book, Liberty for All (Miller) with text by Iaccoca, tells the restoration story. "The statue is a symbol that stands out in our world," says Iaccoca. "We got more than 10,000 letters from Europe telling us it represents the kind of country we have. We've got to cherish our freedom and teach our kids not to take it for granted. "
Hey Jessie!! How are you doing? I'm doing well overall. How are things going for you? What have you been up to? Drop me a line when you have a moment :) It's great to hear from you!!
To love justice, to long for the right, to love mercy, to pity the suffering, to assist the weak, to forget wrongs and remember benefits -- to love the truth, to be sincere, to utter honest words, to love liberty, to wage relentless war against slavery in all its forms, to love wife and child and friend, to make a happy home, to love the beautiful in art, in nature, to cultivate the mind, to be familiar with the mighty thoughts that genius has expressed, the noble deeds of all the world, to cultivate courage and cheerfulness, to make others happy, to fill life with the splendor of generous acts, the warmth of loving words, to discard error, to destroy prejudice, to receive new truths with gladness, to cultivate hope, to see the calm beyond the storm, the dawn beyond the night, to do the best that can be done and then to be resigned -- this is the religion of reason, the creed of science. This satisfies the heart and brain.
