MISS AUSTRALIA FIGURE OVERALL CHAMPION

Hello there, welcome. I've been weight training since 1995 and competed in my first women's bodybuilding contest in 1997.

I originally grew up in Melbourne Victoria. I did the usual kid things, school, Little Athletics, preferring middle and long distance as I could go into my own zone and gymnastics.

My knees where shot by my mid teens, so I didn't get involved much in any sports again till my late 20's.

I worked for 15 years in the horse racing industry in Vic and N.S.W, with commercial breeding and training. In this I started out at the bottom, as you do, but very quickly moved my way up into management positions and was regularly sort out to work on various well known stables, training complex's and breeding properties. Vet nursing with equine is very rewarding especially in pre and post natal care. Though some may die you were quickly rewarded with another making it through.

In 1995 after leaving the racehorse scene and moving to Cairns in Far Nth Queensland I was very thin weighing only 55kg, at 172cm I looked like a willow stick. I started work as a dancer of all things; I also joined a gym to try and put some meat on my bones and get some shape about me. I loved the weights and very soon the competitive drive rose up again to challenge myself and I was addicted. As a dancer I grew in confidence, but I never let it consume me as working as an exotic dancer (yes a stripper) is far from glamorous as some would lead you to think.

I started competing with IFBB in a few small competitions doing women's physique and in 2002 I moved down to Brisbane where I'm still gaining more valuable experience and knowledge in the sport. Winning 4 State titles, a National and an Australasian title in Women’s Bodybuilding between 2000 & 2006, I was pretty pleased with what I had achieved on my own.

Then the road changed direction, slightly. January 2007 a friend ran an idea past me, "Would I consider giving NABBA Figure a go"? Well I've done it and I’m glad I took her advice. It was kept under wraps as there was plenty out there who would think I couldn't cut it, stating I was too muscular (Since when? Plenty out there who were bigger than I was). 5 months later the look on their faces as I was about to walk on stage and compete in my first Figure event said it all. I am now a Figure Competitor. Out of the strong, came forth "Sharp Curves" exceeding my own expectations.

The biggest compliment I have been paid is that I still hold a very feminine look, not over done with too much muscle, but rather a more appealing well trained look. As such I believe that I would be more appealing to a greater selection of the female market than some other, perhaps larger women.

I have done some television commercial work and magazines. This has been a lot of fun and looking to do more.

I’m currently working as a security officer and crowd controller, this has many challenges. For the most part I enjoy this work, but, I've quickly developed a strong distaste for intoxicated arguementive people who are too drunk to see reason or accept responsibility for their own actions and behaviour. I'm looking in other areas for work away from the alcohol.

It is always a pleasure to hear that I have inspired someone to follow their goals and dreams, just by doing what I love to do. Their excitement spurs me on further.

This is where my friends are now pushing me to expand my world as a Personal Trainer. I’ve helped many people over the years and watching them reach their goals left me smiling like the proverbial Cheshire cat. So, taking my friends advice, getting more qualifications and promoting myself as they see me instead of under selling myself for fear of looking too cocky…. I AM HERE… and I am a Personal Trainer. Are you interested in getting into better shape?, wanting a healthier lifestyle?... feel like reaching a few personal goals?, hit me up. I have loads of first hand experience to draw upon and share.

There, I said it and I’m putting myself out there. Adding to the contest bikini’s & trunks, the music editing and tanning I’m already doing for other competitors.

I'm only interested in meeting real people who are positive and know which way they are going in life. Happy down to earth honest people who enjoy life and value *TRUST, HONESTY and RESPECT* DAMAGE JUST ONE OF THESE THREE TRAITS AND YOU LOSE IT ALL. Having an interest in fitness is always a plus.
