Kehinde Wiley rocks my socks. You can see this piece at the Brooklyn Museum, and it's huger than you can imagine.
Music
Some highlights, in verse: "Won't you tell your dad to get off my back. Tell him what we said 'bout Paint it Black;" "Punk rock died when the first kid said, 'Punk's not dead! Punk's not dead!'" (That's my favorite line/quote of all time. I love that David Berman.) I get shivers from the perfection of certain songs such as Needle and the Damage Done, Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen's), Papa was a Rodeo, Hey Ya, Harper Valley PTA.
Movies
Ratatouille!!! That little rat can cook!
Television
Really pathetically into the HD in the den.
Books
Travel books, Cook books, the Boggle book. Glossy books with paper covers.
Heroes
FOREVER AND ALWAYS
Specifically:
Also, of course, my mom. She would be more than fine coming in behind the Sooners. That's one of the billion reasons why she was so rad.
About me: Exploring futures. Pretty damned excited about my new rangetop, and new kitchen in general. I got me a pritty kitty. And Handsome Trouble. Revisiting gold. Laserific. Stinky from cheese.
I think I know what you mean by "impressive" - is that a nice way to say portly? haha!!! Poor Annie!! One can almost see entirely down her throat, she's smiling so widely!
Hey gf - thanks for the note! Things are great up here, and it's excitng being in Ohio during such an exciting election year! So exciting even that I got to meet another great American and Obama campainer LUKE PERRY!! the other day. It like totally solidified my vote in a totally brooding and pensive kind of way. Anyway, tell Norman "hi!" for me!
I must apologize for almost running into your car today. You see, I thought I was ODing on Flintstone vitamins and I was frantically searching for an urgent care clinic. Turns out I'm OK but that doesn't excuse being that a-hole on the phone in his car. I was talking to Jeff R. so you can blame him... Glad you guys made it out last night.
Happy, happy birthday, Suz!! Wow - just seems like yesterday.. :-) Hope you have a GREAT day today and I can't wait to get up there Saturday! Love you too!! XOXOX
18 days, my friend. 18 days. My personal countdown to the destruction of the Mocs. My sweet Bulldog, Mister English is slated to be back in action. *sigh* The anticipation is washing over me. C ya sistah!
HAHA! Well, if you must know I have a particular problem with bottom-dwellers of the sea; fish are okay, especially big ole' fish like salmon and tuna (and most things fried of course) but that leaves catfish, all shellfish and mussels and things with little legs OUT. I'm the most picky un-picky person ever. Though I prefer the term multifaceted. And you can't deny Whole Foods, it will get you too, oh yes it will! It's the buffet and pizza that has me :)
Who is minding the cheese if you are in Chicago?! I will be in town until Friday the 31st so I will definitely come have a coffee chat on your return. LOVE YOU!
much appreciated.......thank you. I LOVE the pic of Mr. Rogers and the Gorilla. Mr. Rogers is regarding the Gorilla with such love, such wonder. pure preciousness.
