About me: I'm 31 and I just relocated to Fishtown in Philadelphia from Wilmington, DE. I run an internet company, and no, it has nothing to do with spamming or porn. I also play bass and guitar as well as record bands on the side. I'm mostly into indie rock, alternative and emo as you can see from my music list. I am also into movies, cycling, reading, and spending time with friends. I like trying new restaurants as well as new wines and mixed drinks. I recently got into beer after hating it for years, now I like Belgian and microbrews. I can't stand sports, they put me to sleep. I am pretty liberal politically. I love to travel and last year I got into scuba diving. Some places I have been include the UK, Ireland, Greece, Turkey, Hawaii, Malaysia and most recently Australia.
Who I'd like to meet: I'm always up for some new friends, especially since I am moving to Fishtown this summer. I could use a new movie buddy or just some people to hit the bars with. Anyone who wants to talk about music, movies or the state of the world is welcome too. Anyone who plays music is cool as well. I don't mind hearing from bands, as long as the music is good. I would also like to find some dive buddies, I don't dive as often as I would like.
The band's going well. No big news, but we just started recording a 2nd album, though it seems like there are some technical difficulties to get past. Dr. Dog let us use their tape machine and studio while they were on tour, and those tapes were transfered to a PC so we could do the rest digitally, but that's proving harder than first thought. We'll get there, somehow. As far as me getting sick of going to weddings and seeing really amateur string players making money that I could be making, which made me think about advertising a little to increase the number of classical gigs I do - well, that's going very, very slowly. And that's the news in music :) Hope all is well and you have a great 2008!
