PETER QUEAL (307-745-4321, Please visit http://www.peterqueal.com) is a Laramie-based jazz guitarist and vocalist who incorporates a multitude of musical styles into his work. Current musical collaborations include his work with Brazilian keyboardist Tony Moreira and performances as a guest artist in conjunction with the Wyoming Arts Council. Peter has experience as a music producer for radio and television. Other productions include the CD "Wild Hair", the newly digitally mastered CD "Moments", the Latin-influenced CD "Conjunto Varietal-de Cuba pa' Trinidad" and the CD "PQBP Live"-a tasteful mix of jazz, Latin and classical works with renowned bassist Bill Plummer. Other professional experience includes Peter’s work as a member of Seville, Spectrus, The Hilton Rhythm Band, The Beat Freaks, Conjunto Varietal, The Mario Asti Group, Flight, Quintessence and Peter Queal and Friends. Venues of note include San Francisco area clubs like the No Name Bar, Uncle Charlie’s, Escovedo’s and Yoshi’s. Local gigs include an ongoing engagement at the Cavalryman Supper Club in Laramie. Peter worked in the Caribbean Islands in bands on both the Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruise lines. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Drury University and a Bachelor of Music Education with honors from the University of Wyoming. While attending U.W. in his studies with Kevin Hart, Peter added several classical guitar pieces to his repertoire and studied jazz guitar with Ron Cottingham. Peter currently teaches jazz guitar at the University of Wyoming, guitar ensemble at Laramie High School and works as an accompanist for the University of Wyoming’s advanced modern dance class.
