Hey! So I am asking you for a huge favor. I have decided to participate in the Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk sponsored by The Lustgarten Foundation. For those of you that do not know a whole lot about my husband, Chris. His Grandmother, Ernestine, was diagnosed and unfortunately, Pancreatic Cancer is one of the most deadly cancers for the simple reason that there are no signs. By the time doctors diagnose you, the cancer has already spread to much, that there is so little hope. A few facts for you to know: 1. About 42,470 individuals are diagnosed with this condition and 35,240 die from the disease in the US alone. 2. Pancreatic cancer is sometimes called a "silent killer" because early pancreatic cancer often does not cause symptoms, and the later symptoms are usually non-specific and varied. Therefore, pancreatic cancer is often not diagnosed until it is advanced. 3. Most patients with pancreatic cancer experience pain, weight loss, or jaundice. So, I ask you to please donate to this research. I know that money is tight these days, but if you can spare one Starbucks coffee or even a pack of smokes to help someone with the research for a great cause, then it's not that much to ask. Yes...it sucked. Luckily for me my skin and eyes didn't react too badly. I certainly don't want o have to do it again though. I now know what it's like...and I'll be okay with never experiencing it again. I'm glad it's behind me now. How are you?
