Lt. Erik McCrae
Even as he was mortally wounded after being hit by shrapnel from an IED, Lt. Erik McCrae was more concerned about his men than himself. His father, Scott McCrae, a retired colonel with the Oregon National Guard, says, “Even when they got [Erik] to the hospital, he was concerned about how his guys were doing, even though he had lost, basically, almost all of his blood by that time because he had so much shrapnel through him. That’s the kind of guy he was.”
~~Rest in Peace Eric...there is not a day that your Mom misses you, I see her now and then and hug her for you and your dad too!~~~WindFeather

Spc. Jeremy E Christensen, ARMY
On November 27, 2004, while on a routine patrol, he was driving the M1 A1 Abrahams Tank on a road in Ad Duilayah, Iraq. The Bradley vehicle in front of him broke down, and he pushed it out of the way, and took the lead. As they came up to the school with children playing in the yard, the tank ran over a bomb that had been paved into the road, so it couldn’t be seen. Since he was driving with the hatch open and his gun on his lap, he took the brunt of the impact and was killed by the concussion. Thankfully, his crew escaped with only minor injuries. Many of the school children also died that day.
He was an excellent Soldier, and well respected by all of his men in his unit. Since he was a little older than most of the other Soldiers, he became a mentor for many of them, as this war was very hard on some of the younger Soldiers.
Jeremy, your Grandma misses you very much and wrote me these words just for your memory:"Loosing my oldest Grandson has changed my life forever, and with a very broken heart, I have to remind myself just how proud I am of all that he did accomplish in his very short life. He was an American Hero, just as the others who we have lost in this war." She and all your family misses you, the holidays are so very hard for all....when I see your grandma again, I will give her a big hug for you ok!
Rest in Peace brave Warrior!

CPT Drew Jensen, who died Sept. 7 after he and his family decided to remove the ventilator that had been breathing for him for fourth months, left a recorded message for the mourners
"The Army was the profession I chose, that gave me more than I could have ever asked for," he said. To those who served beside him in Iraq -- a squad he called "my misfits" -- Jensen said, "Even death cannot break the bonds that we had and the times that we have shared."
Drew Jensen grew up in the Damascus area. He was hit by a sniper's bullet in Iraq in May. He died of his wounds at Fort Lewis after his family decided to take him off the ventilator that had been breathing for him.
Rest in Peace Captain...we all miss you so very much!

They may have gone to college or high school in Oregon, been born in Oregon, or were laid to rest in Oregon. He was a skilled sniper, graduating second in his class; he and his spotter took third place in the International Sniper Competition.
Adam was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping with family and friends; fishing; hunting; riding motorcycles and 4 wheelers (quads); crabbing at the beach; campfires; snow and water skiing. He also loved his cowboy boots; black wrangler jeans; cowboy hat ( which he wore most of the time); his 1978 Ford pickup; John Wayne and George Strait.
He was getting out of the army to become a police officer. He was going to build an airplane with his dad, mom and brother and get his pilot license.
Had a great sense of humor and made friends easily.
Played baseball since the time he was five.
