With a hard rock style that blurs the line between traditional pop, punk, metal and hardcore, With These Words has been bringing their unique sound to the Southwest region since their conception in 2004. After several line-up changes, they were able to finally solidify a line-up that would tie together their varying backgrounds and influences. Fronted by energetic Jessi Golden and backed by guitarists Jake Stevens and Justin Golden, bassist Phil Sahs and drummer Michael Villarreal all the pieces had finally fit. With four years filled with highs and lows, triumphs and tragedies, With These Words have been able to come out stronger but not unscathed and morph those experiences into a style and stage experience that was summed up in a 2004 Harder Beat review as “...great new alternative rock/modern rock...” and “...a powerful live show that is talked about around town…” In 2004, they were hand picked and featured as one of Redefine Magazine’s up and coming bands. In 2007, LIT Monthly magazine described With These Words as “...a solid group…delivering a live set that never stagnates, musically or visually…” In a short four year span, With These Words has been lucky enough to share the stage with notable local and national acts including It Dies Today, God Forbid, Fair to Midland, Dryline, Jacknife, Neverset, Adakain and The Vanished. Packed with an arsenal of crowd pleasing songs and a love for live and local music, With These Words plans on hitting 2008 harder than ever and will answer the question, “does the underdog truly come out on top?”
