I guess anyone who I look up to. People who have made positive marks on the world, Social, economical or otherwise. Haha, yeah, as if that wasnt general enough.
About me: I live in the Bay Area, spending most of my time working and commuting. I am a geek/gamer at heart, but I also know how to have non-technological fun! I spend most of my time dreaming about the future, technology and life in general. I guess you could call me a practical dreamer as my thoughts are usually grounded in reality, and not in far-away lands. More of a Michael Crichton dreamer as opposed to a J.R.R. Tolkien type of dreamer. =)
Who I'd like to meet: Like minded individuals who care about themselves and the world.
I am:
Arthur C. Clarke
Well known for nonfiction science writing and for early promotion of the effort toward space travel, his fiction was often grand and visionary.
Here's a tidbit about Valentine: Legenda Aurea still providing no connections whatsoever with sentimental love, appropriate lore has been embroidered in modern times to portray Valentine as a priest who refused an unattested law attributed to Roman Emperor Claudius II, allegedly ordering that young men remain single. The Emperor supposedly did this to grow his army, believing that married men did not make for good soldiers. The priest Valentine, however, secretly performed marriage ceremonies for young men. When Claudius found out about this, he had Valentine arrested and thrown in jail. In an embellishment to The Golden Legend, on the evening before Valentine was to be executed, he wrote the first "valentine" himself, addressed to a young girl variously identified as his beloved,[19] as the jailer's daughter whom he had befriended and healed,[20] or both.[21] It was a note that read "From your Valentine."[19]
