The Power of One, Titanic, Harrison Bergerone, Ordinary Magic...these are my most favorites. I also enjoyed Lord of the Rings, Alexander, Cowboys and Angels, Mr. Holland's Opus, iRobot, StarTrek movies, Star Wars movies, Mission to Mars, Lilo & Stitch, The Emperor's New Groove, Kronk's New Groove, Chicken Little, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Lady & The Tramp, The Incredibles, and other Disney movies (classic and new). Also loved the movie Rent (great adaptation). There are other movies I enjoy watching, too, that I have probably forgotten here.

Television
The Simpsons, CSI, CSI:Miami, CSI: New York, Without A Trace, Frasier, Scrubs, Will & Grace, Family Guy, South Park, American Dad, Law & Order, Sex & The City, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report. Also, sometimes enjoy the specials on the History Channel and the Discovery Channel. I like That's So Raven & Phil of the Future on the Disney Channel. My most favorite new show is "Digging For the Truth" on the History Channel. I really don't watch a lot of TV (well, except C-Span, C-Span2, and CNN does sometimes capture my attention for longer periods) so while I have favorites when I do turn it on, I don't really watch the shows everytime they are.
Books
To Kill A Mockingbird, Brave New World, Lord of the Flies, War of the Worlds, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, A Density of Souls, Paths To God: Living The Bhagavad Gita, Gay Tantra, Bhagavad Gita, Battle For God, History of God, Human Natures. There are probably more... a lot more... I just can't think of them right now. I enjoy reading, mostly nonfiction, though.
Heroes
Mahatma Mohandas Karmchand Gandhi, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Mother Teresa of Kolkatta these are people I admire most because of their vision and work towards improving the world for all humanity. I also admire my maternal grandparents and my mom for their devotion to family.
I am a practicing Hindu. I used to be an Assembly of God Christian, but adopted Hinduism as my religion that I practice in 2004 after a lot of prayer, studying (not just Hinduism, but many other religions and denominations), and searching.
Some of my hobbies include writing (poems, short stories, stories, lyrics, plays), playing flute (classical/European flute...to be exact), reading, listening to music, and collecting things (I have a few collections like tiger items...not actual tigers, but things like plush toys, pictures, figurines, etc). I'll admit I am a person with many interests and love learning or doing new things and expanding my awareness and perspective on the world.
I am a trained pharmacy technician. I have decided to go back to school in the fall and begin accounting courses. I have worked in many places. I have worked in retail as a cashier and sales associate/clerk as well as a stock person. I have worked in customer service both for a mobile/wireless/cell phone company and also for a credit card company...both were over the telephone. I have worked as an inventory specialist/auditor. I have worked fast food at Braum's..a regional ice-cream and dairy store and restaurant. I have worked for my dad at his used car lot in the office...answering phones, filing papers, entering information into the computer, helping customers, etc. And I've worked in a pharmacy as a pharmacy clerk (the difference between a pharmacy clerk and a pharmacy technician is that a pharmacy clerk stocks the store shelves and runs the cash register...a technician does inventory in the back of the pharmacy, enters customer data into the computer, prints labels, fills the prescriptions, and assists the pharmacists as needed...in a hospital this can include making IVs, filling medicine machines at nursing stations, etc).
Currently I live in Enid, OK helping care for my mom who is recovering from breast cancer and helping my sister with my 4y/o neice.
I'm gay, but it doesn't really define me. I mean, I'm proud to be gay, but I am not a major bar/club going guy and not all my activities are centered around the fact that I am gay.
I am the founder of the PFLAG Enid group as well as the Enid UU group. PFLAG Enid has subgroups such as the Rainbow Youth Alliance Network, Tmosaic, B-yourself, and CAMOUFLAGE. The Enid UU is also something I started and we meet every week on Saturday. I also started the Enid Voice, Enid GLBT Pride Association, Enid GLBT Business Association, SAGE Enid, and the Enid GLBT Community Center group...among other organizations as well. And I am involved in the Garfield County Democrats and also a supporting member of CrossWalk United Church, UCC...an open and affirming, open minded, congregation of the United Church of Christ that is developing right here in Enid, OK! (FYI: United Church of Christ is the same denomination of Barack Obama...not to be confused with the denomination "Church of Christ"...the two are different denominations and VERY different theologically, philosophically, etc).
Besides going to the OKC Hindu and OKC Vedic Temples I also have participated at the OKC Sikh Gurdwara and the OKC Mindessence Zen Center. What can I say, I find God everywhere in all religions and spiritual paths! :)
I am co-leader of the Progressive Hindu Association which was founded by my friend Gadadhar Das who started the Enid Gita Satsang...the group that is a part of the Sanctuary Meditation Center of which I also participated in...the satsang that introduced me to Hinduism. And while the Enid Gita Satsang is no longer a functioning satsang, I also organize and lead the Enid Lotus Satsang. I am also a member of the Mata Devi Math, also founded by Gadadhar Das
I have been blessed to have met Sri Amritanandamayi (Amma) in Dallas in 2006 and 2007 and on my page you'll notice a place where you can donate to her organization that helps all her humanitarian charities that she supports. Her organization supports orphanages, schools for the poor, hospitals for the poor, a university for the poor, building homes for the poor and those that suffered from the 2004 tsunami, helping provide food for the foodless, shelter for the homeless, and helping in many other ways. After Hurricane Katrina she donated millions of dollars and her satsangs across the US organized to help families displaced. They provided the families with homes, jobs, cars, etc...all which was paid from donations from the Amma organization. The satsangs also worked with other religious and secular organizations that were working with families to help those families, too. Amma helps everyone regardless of their religion, caste, gender, age, etc. So if you want to help support her organization, please click on the link below with her picture on it. I also have been blessed to hear Paramahamsa Sri Nithyananda speak here in OKC and he is now building an ashram here.
My passions are human rights, social justice, religion and spirituality...as well as religious tolerance, environmentalism, and politics. As well as studying languages, cultures, geography, and history. I currently have studied or am studying the following languages: French (2yrs), Spanish (2yrs), Russian (1yr), Hebrew (1yr), Welsh (1yr), Chinese (read only; 1yr), Hindi (currently learning).

Who I'd like to meet:
I am always interested in expanding my circle of friends. I enjoy people who have some similar interests as mine, although they should feel free to enjoy things that I don't. They don't have to be the same religion, have the same political outlook, or be of the same interest in careers...or even the same sexual orientation. (I have friends who take no interest in politics or are Republicans...I have friends who are Catholic, Episcopalian, Baptist, Atheist, Buddhist, Hindu, Unitarian-Universalist, Wiccan, Pagan, nondenominational Christian, Jewish, Muslim, etc, etc, etc...friends that are homosexual, heterosexual, and bisexual). If all we share in common is TV shows or books or music, well that works, too. I always enjoy meeting people who also enjoy some of the things I do (it's nice to know there are other people that enjoy them, too). Whether it is soccer, books, TV, movies, music, religion/spirituality, politics, humanitarian causes, activism...whatever we share I always enjoy making a friend to share that with.

Thanks for adding me Nate Here’s this week’s Naked Truth Gay News In Review. I upload a new show to my page every Tuesday. In this week’s show I discuss state and federal laws that may offer some equality to the GLBT population and I address free speech and my latest stalker. Be sure to check out the other episodes on my myspace page if you like this one, and comment and share. Here’s the link where you can vote for my friend Jade (RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant, in the Kim Kardashian look alike contest. She needs our support. Hi Nate, I hope you're having a great weekend! At last its warmed up here in Chicago and it feels great! I really appreciate being included among your friends here! Please stop by anytime and stay in touch. Have fun today and a great week ahead!
Many thanks for the add. Hope you enjoy the music and message behind it. My mission in life is to fight Human Trafficking. understanding the individual pain of others is sometimes to painful for an other individual to touch and that is frightening ... what i mean is that someone whose life is not traumatized and brutalized as a regular sequence of every day events unconsciously seeks the camouflage and shelter of apathy and banality from the reality of such devastating anguish and terror ...
but the spirit of young people who are used as sex slaves in the systematized global industry of human trafficking is now reaching out to the human fellowship in hope and desperation and through technology ...
it is scary when humanity turns a blind eye to this horror ... its like ignoring genocide whilst it is happening ...
what i am asking is that if you hear the cry of these young people who are existing in an environment of torture and brutality each and every day that you then please do not turn away from them ...
please reach deeply into your heart and soul and please in 2009 join a movement or become a part of an event that challenges modern slavery in the 21st century ... colin

We're thrilled that you have become a 'friend!' We hope to woo you with song and see you evolve from 'friend' to über-fan soon enough. Check the tunes out on iTunes, they sound better there than on myspace. The link is on our main page.
Our new single "It's Not Me, It's YOU" will be out in December, ahead of the release of our sophomore album 'Manic Ghost.' Keep checking out page for upcoming contests, videos and previews of the new album.
You can still buy the old album on iTunes (and Rhapsody, Napster and many others)before the new one is released. If buy it, you're our best friends for life. Ha. You are quite blatantly badass, oh, new friend of ours. =)
