I like to think of my photographs as funky portraits that document different stages of my life. My friends and acquaintances inspire my photographs. As a photographer I enjoy being creative. My images represent what is seen through the camera, they are not manipulated in the darkroom or computer. I enjoy photographing with film and digital. I like to create themes and environments to play in. I like to use filters and props to create different layers to look through. My images possess humor, playfulness and spontaneity. The process in which I shoot is child like. I like to think of it as playing dress up. One outfit leads to another and then you add the accessories. With my older pieces of work I liked to play dress up in the studio setting. In my recent work I wanted to bring my studio way of photographing outside into a more urban setting. In the future, I want to create more photographs with a sense of humor. I want to make people laugh more. It’s so true, laughter is the best medicine. Enjoy!
