.. Geo-Caching, Theater, History, Quantum Physics (as a form of counter intelligence on GOD.), & riding my horse. My dream is to combine all of these interests into one mega-interest. I want to perform in a live theater production of the history of geo-caching with a parrallel universe twist. Oh - and the whole play is performed on horse-back.
Music
I have really varied taste. I love motown, opera, classic rock, 70's songwriter era crap... that kind of thing. As for my KARAOKE stylings: Billy Joel, Don Henly, Elton John, Meatloaf, and Stevie Wonder (or so I'd like to think). After 3 drinks my karaoke skills improve to U2, Marvin Gaye, and Janis Joplin. After 6 drinks - I can sing ANYTHING (and probably will).
Movies
Too many movies - not enough bytes. I'll start with the critical ones: Princess Bride, Matrix, Star Wars Trilogy (4,5,6), Harold and Maude, Holy Grail, Napolean Dynamite, Shrek I, Toy Story II, Incredibles, Jaws, Casablanca, V for Vendetta, Comic Book movies,
Television
If I do watch any shows, I prefer watching them on DVD. Currently "BattleStar Galactica", previously, Heroes, Lost and Lost Room. As for drama, one the best shows on TV was West Wing. "House" is great. Dr House is totally cool. He makes me want to get a motorcylce and a nice vicaden addiction and live life on my own terms. Except I don't have the "brilliant doctor" thing going for me, so it probably wouldn't work out too well for me. For comedy viewing "The Simpsons" is my all time favorite show. I would say "Southpark" is my favorite show now, but the Simpsons has the "Respect" factor. "Scrubs" and "The Office" are very funny. NOTE: I only got into "Gilmore Girls" for a short period of time because my daughter need to bond with me. Reports that I stayed up all night on multiple occasions watching disk after disk to see what happened next with Rory and Loralie, were GREATLY exaggerated.
Books
Going Back in Order: CURRENTLY reading "The Terminal Man" by Michael Crichton. I just love reading techno thrillers written in the 70's. They spent a page and a half describing the cutting edge technology of the main characters "page-master" (pager), And then reference the new fangled computer that is so small it fits in to a medium sized room. WOOOOOW! Before this I read "The Andromeda Strain", and "Frankinstein" by Mary Shelley, The woman who proved chicks could write about monsters. "Eclipse", "New Moon" & "Twilight", - a Trilogy about Vampires, Werewolves, and high-schoolers - got hooked thanks to Shelbey Rose. "The Endurance" True story of Sir Ernest Shacklton's amazing survival story on Antarctica. "Manhunt" about John wilkes Booth and his flight from justice. "Dreams from my Father" - Barack Obamas first book. "Tesla: A Man Out of Time"(Biography). "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman. Before that: "The Last Templar. I like history, Fiction or Non-fiction, ancient mysteries, spiritual journey stuff, too., FICTION: Dan Brown, Zelazny, Scott Card, Brooks, Gemmel....
Heroes
That guy who jumped into the freezing water of the Potomic many years ago to rescue those airplane crash survivors. No, wait! - I want to change my answer to Batman! Screw that first guy, I don't know what I was thinking.
Two Lots! 20 minutes to Olympia. Lovingly updated 4 bedroom with SEPARATE 1 acre building lot. Park-like setting. Detached Guest bungalow.
A park-like setting surrounds this nice home. Tastefully updated and lovingly maintained everwhere. Lots of room inside & out: the layout is spacious and functional with a separate family room, and office. The house feels way larger than the 1700 square feet.
That is awesome you are staying active in it! R u doing them next weekend too? Juli goes to her Dad's house on Sunday so maybe I could come see them. You would be hilarious as the Nazi! I think that is a hilarious show! I will def going to see it! They are doing Into the Woods in the end of March in Lakewood that I need to go see too! Im sooo excited to get back into this fall
Thats too bad you are busy I can see that as being a PERFECT show for you! I started taking voice lessons again a couple months ago...I get my BS in June and plan one starting up again ASAP after that! Missin the stage bad!
Ok, that't it...I am calling you on Sunday so if you don't have plans yet, don't make any. If you do....well, there's nothing I can do about that. But seriously, Sunday would be a good day for a visit, k?
Yeah, first week of February is fine with me. I will just be settling back in to work and I'm really excited. Ben is a little sick right now, too :( I am hoping he's better for daycare tomorrow because I have a doctor appiontment and I can't really take him with. We'll keep in touch and if I don't hear from you first, I'll start bugging you again next week sometime :)
Hey, was that Obama book any good? I used to be such an avid reader when I was in school but when I was stopped being forced to read I also lost interest in reading for the heck of it. I've seen that book around and it caught my eye and I would really like to read something worthwhile.
Alrighty, I'm going in tomorrow morning to be induced and hopefully actually give birth to this child inside of me shortly thereafter. I know we never got together after James got back, but I hope you guys can meet Benjamin soon after he's born, though!! Take care Dave and I'll talk to you.....sometime! :)
Dave! We need to get together before I have this baby! You've got about 6 weeks depending on when he decides to bless this world with his presence. Even James is bugging me to get a hold of you because he wants to hang out with you & Jay. So...yeah, we want to hang out with you guys again.
Other than that, how are you all doing? Shelbey's still commenting my page and texts me every now and then. I think she's more excited about Benjamin getting here than I am :) Well, that's all for now. I really do hope to hear from you soon. Take care for now!!
guess what... last night I had a horrible dream that britney spears died and I went to her moms house to say hi because apparently I knew britney and her mom was angela petrelli only it wasn't her she just looked like her. I walked up to the back of the house and there were bullet holes in the back door and the window of the door and I was really sad so I went to the front and went in and started helping her mom and dad fill the dishwasher...anyway the dream went on for a long time and it was really long and when i woke up I was really sad and all day it's been bugging me so I just went and bought her newer cd and now i'm gonna have a pre-planned britney spears phase. I know that sounds crazy and weird but I whink it will make me feel better...yeah. ok bye
Hm...as of now I do have to run out to the Capital Mall Wed. to pick up my wedding ring (sent off to fix loose diamonds) but that's all I've got going on now. Friday I will still probably be recovering from my dentist appt. and my mom & sister are in town that night as well for the shower. Just let me know...I'm pretty flexible. Speaking of the shower, though, did the girls get their invite (Jay, Becca & Shelbey)?
So, I know we said we'd all get together while James is Germany, but clearly that has not happened. Kinda my fault. I'm sure you guys are busy, but I haven't even made the attempt to contact. I hung out with a couple people right after he left, but mostly it's been me at home alone. Not because I'm being recluse or anything, but I started having a REAL hard time sleeping and so I just always hopped in bed early to make up for what time I would lose throughout the night. But...if you guys are up to something anytime this week or even weekend, let me know. He should be back before the 10th, but that's still 12 days away. You know the number if you want to! Talk to you later!
