About me:
I am a naturalist and professional photographer. I have several degrees in the sciences and recently began working on a Ph.D. in Biology at Texas Tech University. My research focuses on studying how climate change and human occupation have incited vegetation changes in the Big Bend region of Texas over the past 150+ years by comparing the modern landscape with historical photographs.

Besides being a grad student, I also spend time working on personal photography projects that range from fine art and documentary to just goofy and fun. I have gallery shows of my work a few times a year at various museum and fine art galleries. To view my work, check out my website: Richard Allen Ashmore Photographs.

I sincerely enjoy meeting new people (even on MySpace!), hanging-out with friends, and just relaxing and having a good time. Look forward to meeting you!

There is a stream of well-being that is always available to us. All we have to do is allow it. Letting go of the resistance that is holding us back from the things we truly desire allows us to flow freely downstream. Once you are caught up in this current, you will start to feel an overwhelming sense of joy and all the things that you have been asking for through your thoughts will start to manifest. Life was meant to be joyful!

I wish you joy, laughter, and happiness!

Jenn told me that your class got cancelled. She was a bit disappointed. I would have been too. Gees, this weather we are experiencing today makes me sleepy. I could totally go back bed or I could watch the movie I just got from netflix, which is titled 21. Ok... I am rambling... peace and love

I want to share this photo of an Eastern Screech Owl that I took yesterday on the Magee Marsh boardwalk. He represents pure, positive energy that I am sending your way. I wish you all the joy, health, and success that you could possibly imagine.

When life is moving along too fast or difficult experiences seem to show up one after another, take a second to observe the wildlife around you and imagine what the world is like through their perspective. They coexist on this beautiful planet with us and through their perception, life is truly amazing and they are always thriving in this ever evolving world. See yourself thriving as well and take time to be grateful for what you have. Soon you will notice positive energy making it’s way into your life through people, places, and things. Always know that you can be, do, or have anything you desire. All you have to do is believe that you can.

I am so grateful to have you as a friend. I am truly blessed.
If you haven’t done so already, I invite you to check out my latest (blog).
I have a short video clip of this Screech Owl and a gorgeous female Great-Horned Owl and her baby in their nest. The baby is soooooooo cute!

it's nice to meet you also. I love your work. I love the one with the barb wire... I know that's simple but just 2 weeks ago I was trying to do the same thing but with our horses in the background. but I couldn't get it to turn out just right... I guess practice makes perfect... If I get the look that I want. I will be sending you one. just for you to tell me what i did or not do right or wrong. again your work is great. It's so clean and simple... love it.
