My name is Colin Meloy. I grew up in Helena, Montana. I'm in a band called The Decemberists. I'm just a normal guy. I like to watch movies, listen to music, eat, sleep. I went to college to major in creative writing because honestly I wanted to become a writer but I then moved to Portland and met my band mates and became a songwriter. I love it, its one of the best jobs there is.

Whats up? I found this site and thought i'd tell everyone, it shows you if anyone at school likes you. I dont know how it works but its really cool, it told me a couple different people who have crushes on me since gradeschool. You gotta try it!

Was in Helena last night and drove past your house while trying to get my kid to pass out and thought..."Yeah for Colin, traveling around the world getting paid for it!" We're happy for you-life is still good in Missoula, Hope to see you here again some day...maybe when you are old and deaf and you can reunite Happy Cactus. All the Patchouli bagels will come to that show.
I was with a big group at a NE PDX restaurant a couple Fridays ago. As I walked in to be seated there was this cute little kid eating with his family, and I smiled because he was cute and I have little kids and because kids are awesome. And then I looked up and realized that you were sitting there and the cute kid must be your son. And I thought, "oh hell, I hope he doesn't think I'm doing the old stare-at-the-famous-person-out-in-public thing."
You strike me as a exceedingly normal guy, and despite your fame you deserve to go out and have a nice dinner with your family without getting bothered.
