I sculpt data that scrambles electrons that excite magnets that move speakers that ripple the air that tickles your eardrum that tantalizes your brain that shakes your bum. Simply put, I'm a music producer and recording engineer. I do a lot of work with Preservation Hall Recordings, and I am also sometimes on the road as a live sound engineer. Last summer, as impossible as it seems, I did sound for the Tony Clifton Katrina Kiss My Ass tour. Since April, I've been playing keyboards for the New Orleans Bingo! Show.
In the last year I've recorded Pete Seeger, Ani DiFranco, Andrew Bird, Jim James, Del McCoury, Richie Havens, and the Blind Boys of Alabama. I can't wait to see what's next!
I speak some Japanese, and I try to travel to Japan as often as I can. I love it there. When I visit, I sometimes play piano with Bro. Taisuke's Mass Choir (who we've managed to get booked for Voodoofest 2009!!!).
I like to approach life from multiple angles. My sense of humor ranges from goofy to outright sinister. I'm intrigued both with the complex flavors of something like thai food and the delicious simplicity of a bowl of rice.
