About me:
My Writing Bio
My Research bio
My first published book, The American Godwar Complex
My puppet Lester has a book coming out from Effing Press in late 2007. Ron Silliman reviewed the manuscript a few years ago.
I have three other books I've completed, all in review.
I hope in the not-too-distant-future to rejoin my writerly interests with my research interests. While for years I've adopted computational techniques to inform my writing, I've adopted them manually and critically, namely by using them to generate texts without conscious control them and then compel myself to violating the rules generating those texts. I'm a little more congenial about computational approaches these days, and have recognized some pretty creative approaches that could tie together poetry, issues of authorship, and text mining. I love conceptual and ambitious art. Actually I like ambitious, hard-working, work-hard, play-hard people in general. Offensive people are generally OK with me.
Mostly these days I'm focused on finding the perfect job, working on Hypothia, and being a father. I have a three year old daughter, Sofia, and a son, Booker, who was born on 27 August 2006. I'm also focused on putting together our new home, which stands on a beautiful lot in the middle of Chapel Hill, is well-built, but generally out-of-date inside.

Who I'd like to meet:
I'm not a hero-worshipper, namely because people we perceive as great are just like many of us in some fundamental ways. Besides, worship entails being intimidated and being intimidated precludes actually getting to know any of them. I've met many of the living people I've ever wanted to meet. Generally I've sought them out. 95% of them have been poets, and I've made a lot of friendships that way, just seeking out writers whose work I admire.
