Alexandra Phillips

Hello all. I'm Alexandra better known as Ali. I live in Dudley; I just moved in to a fabulous apartment with my best friend. I go to Worcester State College; I am a Communications major with a concentration in Woman's Studies; I have had a few "bumps in the road" while getting my degree but I will have my BA hopefully by this summer. I am a very friendly, humorous (I think), out going person. I am very sensitive when it comes to certain matters but I consider myself a strong person. I don't believe in regrets; everything happens for a reason. Learn from your mistakes and experiences they help you to grow (it's kind of my life motto). I try to follow my heart where ever that may lead and trust my instincts because they haven't failed me yet. I can be very extreme at times, which has its ups and downs. If I really believe in something I stand by it; if I see injustice I don't just stand and watch, I act. I'm opinionated but very open-minded; I love to hear others view on things (it is how we learn). I am an advice giver and I tend to nurture (I am lovingly referred to 'Mom' by friends). I have watched people walk in and out of my life and I was naive to think that they would all stay. Although I am sure that those who have remained in my life, through my insane roller coaster, are true and must love me as much as I do them. Sometimes I think we put labels on people in our lives and believe that their 'role' automatically entitles them to loving or needing us a certain way (like your parents, siblings or relatives) - this is far from the truth. My friends have become my 'nontraditional' family. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for the people I love and sometimes complete strangers. I am a thinker and I analyze a lot, sometimes too much but I'm getting better. I love anything that is creative, I write and paint. I was a Fine Arts major with a concentration in Graphic Design for three years at Framingham State College but life threw a curve ball and I had to transfer to Worcester State College and live back at home. Like I said before everything happens for a reason, I changed my major, Women's Studies is what I was destined to study and I love WSC. Once I 'officially' graduate this Spring I am going right back to WSC to get my Master's in Nonprofit Management. I hope to work in or with nonprofit organizations developing outreach programs. I try to live each day to the fullest with a smile and no matter how tough things get I just keep fighting.
