I was blessed to have been given a good mind, and to have a mind open to what comes next. Working in ER is an extension of that. My greatest hope is to be a good person and to appreciate others for what they are. It doesn’t matter if that individual is the president or a janitor. That’s what I do when caring for patients inside the hospital, and I only want to do the same in everyday life.
My name is Travis Lane Stork. I am an ER doctor, having completed my residency at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. I also co-host a syndicated tv show called "The Doctors", a medical team that uses our knowledge and years of hands-on experience to educate viewers and provide valuable resources. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Duke University and earned my MD from University of Virginia. I have a true passion for helping people, but the one thing that was missing was a woman to share my life with. ABC's "The Bachelor" in Paris presented me with an opportunity of a lifetime. It gave me the chance to step back from my career and job and focus on my personal life, concentrating all my attention and energy on meeting some amazing women.
I am a Ft. Collins, Colorado native, with a traditional Midwest upbringing. I have a close relationship with my sister, Andrea, and my parents, who recently celebrated their 40th anniversary. I am a simple guy with simple pleasures, which I think accounts for why I am a happy person. I'm a huge outdoors enthusiast. A real devotee of mountain and road biking, and also enjoy kayaking and hiking.
Thank you to everyone who has been supportive over the past couple years. Yes..I am still single. I am often asked, "What kind of woman are you looking for?" Along with being genuine, honest and caring, and someone who is somewhat adventurous and athletic, it's the woman who catches my eye - maybe with the way she smiles, the way I first react to her. I get that feeling inside you really can't describe.
Here are answers to a couple of the more popular questions I get from fans:
Q: How were you chosen to be the Bachelor?
A: I was "discovered" at a local bar in Nashville. I was there with coworkers and the casting crew was there that evening by pure coincidence. I guess I was spotted and they thought I had the look they wanted for the show. At that time, they had no idea about my profession or anything about me. We talked for a while, and they asked me to call and come down for a formal interview. Initially, I wasn't at all interested in being cast for the show. My sister Andrea was very persuasive (she was a huge fan of the show's previous seasons) and convinced me that it would be an opportunity of a lifetime. So..I called them back and went in. I was there for about seven hours. I had to meet all the producers. I got interviewed by a criminal investigator. A doctor tested me for diseases. I had to be with a psychologist for an hour. It was like trying to get (into) the FBI.
Q: I think you were a gentleman on "The Bachelor". Did they build you up for television or are you really that perfect? Why did you choose Sarah and not Moana..or Susan..or someone else?
A: We all have our flaws..me included. I try and treat women the way I would want to be treated in return. I know I came off at the end (with the last couple of girls) as being cold, but the cameras really didn't accurately portray how the dates and interactions went. They only showed little clips and highlights of what they wanted the audience to see..but not a lot of the in depth, real conversations we had. Keep in mind that this was filmed over a period of months (mid-October till early December), and you only saw a couple hours of footage. Moana is a great girl, but just was not the right girl for me. I thought that Sarah and I had potential. However, because they did not allow us to spend any time together while the show was in process of being aired (Nov till end of Feb), our relationship was set up for failure. The forced separation pretty much ruined any chance of a real relationship blossoming after the show. I still gained a great friend out of the show, and I feel blessed for the experience. I am on friendly terms with a couple of the other "bachelorettes" as well, but most of them I have not had any conversations with since the show wrapped up. I know "breaking up", even if its a tv romance, is never an easy thing and there were a lot of real emotions mixed in from all of us. Hopefully someday I can be friends with everyone I was fortunate enough to meet. I think time will heal most things. I wish all of them happiness in everything they do.
Who I'd like to meet: I love hearing from fans. Send me an invite request and I'll happily add you, but please understand that I do not check my profile daily, so don't worry if it takes a few days to be added. Please keep all messages/comments positive and constructive. I'd hate to have to remove anyone.
