so I'm 53 and that sounds old except that I don't feel it. But what is 53 supposed to feel like? After all nobody tells you, so you just go along an uncharted path and figure that at the end of this thing we call life you'll be able to close your eyes and say "I did good". At least that's what I feel although there is a sadness deep within knowing how brief a time we really have. One day you wake up and life has changed and you can't get it back and you're not sure you want to but you're not sure what's ahead.I'm married for 27 years to the best husband in the world who made promises he kept long before we knew any better, and we have two great kids who aren't kids anymore but they are the very being of my soul. I love cats (I think I have 4 or 5) and my little dacshund Snicker and the baby Malti-poo named Angel, that my daughter brought home. If I had a dime I would give you a nickel if I could find it at the bottom of my purse. Nothing worth having is worth having alone. I'm a teacher, a mother, a wife and still me and on any different day the order may change. Don't ask me about things in "my days." These are my days although I may just have more memories than some and less than others. It is my time to love and be loved, to travel, to teach, to become more than I am today and to know that as doors close behind me I will walk through an open one until it is time to say, "I did good." .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
