About me: "...on the simplest level "The Suicide" is a tale of the victory of love and spirit over ego and superficiality--of compassion over material obsession; about purity in the face of death and the salvation of love. Jeff Markey, a remarkable actor, is superb in this tale-- based on Bukowski's short story--as he breaks our notions of what is cool in our advertising/media dominated world and what is expected of beauty and discovers something within himself, he never knew he had. His discovery brings us to tears. All the more remarkable because Markey directed and wrote the piece as well. One of the most moving and excellent short films to come along in a long time--and when it is most needed as this world degenerates into surface, posing, materialism and hatred... a flower grows."

Great short! I'm a huge Bukowski fan, but I wasn't familiar with the short story this film is based on. So many people paint a portrait of him as this hard-ass womanizing drinker - so it's great when people explore his great empathy for humanity, like this piece does. Thanks for making it.
This is a very cool little short. I loved the closing scene. It was totally the opposite of what I was expecting. You ever notice that when you are feeling the most cynical there is always something to pull you back and save you from the numbness? Yeah me neither... But every once in a while... something small and beautiful is enough to inspire me.
Thanks for the add.I'm glad you came at a time when I ,myself have thoughts and plans...these thoughts are still in my head.I'm hoping in time, these feelings will go away?I did infact enjoyed the clip.Excellant!!
Thanks for the add. From a slightly fat chick, I understood those feelings from long ago. When you find that special man, who loves you for you and not what you look like, life is so much better...
It meant alot to see that this guy really take a step back and think about his actions and was honest with himself and his emotions.
You are a truly talented person and again, thanks for the thoughtfulness to all those of us who are not what society thinks a person should be, or at least weigh....
Watching your movie was decidely the best experience I had yesterday.
It's absolutely out of the commun and I can only imagine you playing it. You are an amazing actor.
I was also shocked by the film because I found your Space really by chance and I'm reading at the moment a book called "The Suicide Academy" Do you know it?
I hope this is an "avant goût" of many other films.
im doin all films in my friends list this month im working on that where all the list is great films for people to check out .and your number on the list i love what ya got man ...and bukowski wasa genious..im still editing the list and adding ..well thanks again peace..Mike
I have been meaning to leave you a comment for a few days now...hehe anyway I wanted to tell you that I absolutely loved your movie. It was great. Keep up the good work and if you ever need an actress let me know..haha Take care! goodluck in all your endeavors.
Jeff Markey,
I write scenary, make music for films and shoot shortfilms, so you can believe what I say, as a shortfilm, everthing in this movie was 100/100. i've watched one of the best acts in my life (comparing with not only other shortfilms, i'm considering the big movies that have made us what we are now), the music fit every atmosphere of the scenes.. and the music added so many things to it, nobody else could translate this story of Mr. Bukowski's into visuality that great.. the places were well-chosen, and everything else that i'm too amazed to remember was absolutely great.. and this inspired me a lot for my own projects, i'll be advertising your work every now and then and i'll be looking forward for your next works.. thanks for making me brave enough to scream that are is still not a consumer/seller swamp.
Cheers!
fkk'n beautiful man. i've had nights like this. the most important thing art can do is find relation wth the consumer (fan) and you have achieved that tenfold.

I watched your film last night before I went to bed.
And couldn't tear myself away from it as I began to watch it. Noises abounded around me as I sat in awe of what unfolded in front of my eyes, and I could not tear my eyes away.
It left me with such strange feelings, and brought me back months and months to a point in my life I had tried to ignore.
And in my writing last night I found peace and in my dream last night I found peace.
So I have to thank you.
For making that film. For sharing it with everyone and anyone willing to watch it.
