   Seann William Scott's Blurbs
About me:
I was born in the small town of Cottage Grove, Minnesota on October 3rd 1976 to parents Bill, a factory worker now retired, and mother Pat, a homemaker. He is the youngest of six siblings, both of my parents were previously married and had three children each before marrying each other and having me. Being the youngest though certainly had it's advantages as I was spoilt rotten! He was raised in a very disciplined and religious household and visited church regularly, which he feels has kept him grounded on his path to fame. I attended Park High School and was extremely popular among his peers, he was given the nickname 'Church Boy' for his clean living religious lifestyle and was awarded 'Most Friendly Student' by his class mates upon leaving. In 1995 he was crowned homecoming king. I dedicated my lunch times to help out and put together activities for the special needs children at the school, My High School teacher Mrs Cherie Bien-Coffman says 'He use to bend over backwards for them, he was an absolute gentleman.' My main passion in life however was my sports and I was on the school basketball, football and athletics team. I played on the same basketball team in high school as LA Lakers star Sam Jacobson and the pair have remained good friends. I've dreamed of having a career as an athlete in track and field but feared I would never make the grade. I worked many jobs in places such as Home Depot, and the local movie theatre serving popcorn to earn some pocket money, and it was while he was working at the movie theatre that I realised my dream in wanting to become an actor. So in 1996 I graduated from High School a semester early and moved to LA with his mum to pursue my dream.. I have now recall this move as naive, believing it was as easy as stepping off a plane and walking into the film studio. The first couple of years for me were tough and on multiple occasions nearly gave up, packed my bags and came home. In eight months I have only managed to land myself one job, playing basketball in a Sunny Delight commercial. I have had a strong northern, Minnesota accent which I was quick to lose, to help his career. I made a living working in such places as LA Zoo, cleaning the floors and toilets of a pizza plaza and selling glow-in-the-dark stars at a place called Scientific Revolutions at CityWalk, Universal. Things took a turn for the worse for me when in 1996 I was jumped upon by a gang in LA whilst on the way to an audition for Baywatch. I arrived half an hour late, with no shirt, no money and no shoes! And they didn't even let me audition. Things picked up in 1997 when I landed a part in the made for TV movie 'Born Into Exile' directed by Eric Laneuville about two high school sweethearts who run away to California. The movie co-stars Saved By The Bell star Mark Paul Gosselar and earned a role in another made for TV movie, Something So Right, several guest appearances on TV shows such as Sweet Valley High and Unhappily Ever After and a regular appearance on internet series Chad's World. I also stared in Aerosmith's music video A Hole In My Soul as a an envied High School football jock who gets the girl. Then in 1999 I got my big break when I was cast as Steve Stifler in the teen comedy movie American Pie, originally named Great Falls High. The directors where so impressed with my performance that they allowed me to have input into the characters persona and allowed me to introduce new ideas into the character. " I didn't want him to be a character that you love to hate, i wanted him to be a character that you hated to love." American Pie was a huge success making $34 million in its first week. Me and the other cast members were rocketed to stardom over night. "I couldn't go anywhere without people coming up to me or shouting Stifler, it was crazy, good crazy but crazy." Comedy was not a road Seann planned to take saying he didn't even think he was funny and was worried that playing Stifler would type-cast him as a high school jock. I was more interested in playing more serious roles and in 1999 after the release of American Pie I auditioned for Sam Mendes controversial Oscar winning film American Beauty for the role of the Ricky Fitz but sadly lost out to Wes Bentley. "I've never wanted a role as much as i wanted that one i was unbelievably disappointed when i didn't get it. The funny thing is i felt really good about my audition, but i guess Wes Bentley nailed it." I was not short of offers, and next starred in the horror flick Final Destination alongside Devon Sawa and Dawson's Creek star Kerr Smith. It was a role that I certainly lost his head over! I also went on to star in the movie Road Trip about a group of College friends who go on a road trip to retrieve a sex tape that was accidentally mailed out to his friend's girlfriend. Shortly after, I starred in the neurotic film Dude Where's My Car, about a couple of pot heads who, well, lose their car. The movie was a flop and Me and co-star Ashton Kutcher were devastated about the way the film was shot "When I signed on it was a hard 'R' rated movie. The dialogue was really gritty and off and bizarre. Then the first day of filming, the said, "We're making this into a PG-13." How the hell can you make a film about smoking pot suitable for kids? It turned into this weird, homoerotic movie, nothing like what was originally planned. I was quite annoyed as that was not what I signed on to do". A pattern was beginning to emerge with an endless list of comedy flicks with me playing the arrogant funny guy. I stresses in no way like his wild eccentric characters, the party throwing woman obsessed Stifler, the sex tape chasing E.L nor the brain dead Chester and said that people were having difficulty in separating him from his characters. "Chicks are scared of me, they think I'm this loud mouthed party going crazed guy who just wants to get into their pants and it couldn't be further from the truth." When Dude Where's My Car wrapped in April 2001 I took a well earned break and packed his bags and went travelling with friends around Australia and Europe. On return from his travelling, I signed up for his next project, Evolution - a sci-fi comedy co-starring David Duchovny, Orlando Jones and Julianne Moore. Working on the movie with people that I had admired and looked up to for years was something that took a while to sink in: "Working with people who had such an impact on my decision to move to LA and become an actor was an amazing experience for me. I have been a huge X-Files fan for years and to working along side David is an honour. On set, I've became the target of practical jokes: "This one time David and Orlando sneaked into my trailer and filled all my clothes pockets with food. Two weeks later i was still walking around with peas and corn coming out of my pockets." In 2002 I signed on for the sequel American Pie 2. I admit that I and the other cast members were extremely nervous about doing a sequel with all the pressure for it to be better than the first. Everyone agreed, however, that the script was funnier that the first and it proved to be a big hit with audiences and critics when it hit the box office in the new year of 2002 grossing $36 million in the first week, $2 million more than the original. Me and Jason Biggs were awarded the MTV award for Best Kiss for their tongue sarnie scene in the movie and made a very memorable acceptance speech. In mid 2002 my parents decided to divorce and the news hit Seann hard, he still continues to have a strong relationship with both parents and recently gave my father enough money to retire and bought him a boat and also treated my mum to a first class holiday in Hawaii. I threw myself into work and decided it was time to move on from comedy and try something a little more serious. I took on the role of Ben in the independent film 'Stark Raving Mad' about a guy left repaying his brothers debts after his tragic death. The film was not a success and did no go down well with critics, nor did my bad boy image. It was released in theatres throughout Europe, but went straight to video in the United States at the end of 2003. Unfazed by this and determined to shake off my Stifler image, I next took on the role of Kar in Bulletproof Monk. He co-stars with martial arts legend Chow Yun Fat and ex model Jamie King. I underwent a vigorous training regime of 12 hrs a day to get into shape and learn the skills of martial arts that I required for the film. I openly admit that I did almost all of my stunts in the movie and came out with many a bruise to prove it. At one point I suffered a serious back injury but Chow Yun Fat carried me to his trailer and work some Chinese magic on it and it was sorted. Bulletproof Monk reached number 3 in the box office charts when it was released in May 2003, and even though once again the critics were hard on Seann everyone else accepted me and my new action role and proved to the public there is more to me than Stifler. But Stifler is where I returned one more time for the final instalment of American Pie, American Wedding. I was adamant I would not be returning for a third slice of pie but apparently once I read the script I was sold, saying "It is the funniest one yet." Filming started in February 2003 and finished in May, and the film was released in August 2003 to a great reception from 'Pie' fans everywhere. I went from one movie set to another shooting over to Hawaii to film my next action flick 'The Rundown' in which he co-stars with The Rock and Christopher Walken. The Rundown again was a box office success, grossing over $47m in the USA. It is awaiting release in parts of Europe in March 2004, under the original title, "Welcome to the Jungle". 2004 is set to be a busy time for me. After losing out the role of Drew Baylor to Orlando Bloom in the film 'Elizabethtown', I was reported to star in the movie 'Less Than Kind' alongside Angela Bassett and Foxy Brown. Most recently, I was reported to have signed up for romantic comedy 'Sebastian Knight', the story of a neurotic woman addicted to self-help who sleeps with a guy only to discover he is a CIA agent who slept with her only to get out of a jam. My leading lady is yet to be announced. As well as continuing to build my film career, my plans to venture behind the camera as well. I plan to follow in the footsteps of my producer brother Daniel William Scott, and he created his own production company earlier this year as part of his contract for American Wedding and The Rundown. The production company, named Identity Films, is a contract production deal with Universal Studios Hollywood. He is reported to be first in line for the remake of the French film Gregoire Moulin Vs Humanity which if all goes to plan Seann will be co-producing.
