General

youth ministry (esp. through Teen World Ministries and Hollow Rock Campmeeting); missionary trips; reading on, studying and discussing religion, politics, history, science, technology and mathematics, esp. as they relate to the practical living of the Christian faith; playing musical instruments (esp. guitars [I have an acoustic, an acoustic bass an electric bass], piano, fife, recorder and bongos); the live performing arts, both participating in (acting, singing and dancing) and patronizing local productions; watching my RES turtle; snorkling, disc golf, paintball, laser tag and geocaching; parliamentary procedure (a.k.a. how to participate in and chair a democratic meeting) (I belong to NAP and AIP); computer programming; sitting in the swing on the front porch, rocking and/or holding my nephews and nieces

Music

Every genre except those of acid and death metal... and as long as it has a positive message with lyrics that I CAN UNDERSTAND.

(Okay, so I'm too lazy to list them out....)

Movies

50 First Dates, X-Men!

... and others, including (but not limited to) the genres of science fiction, fantasy, horror, thrillers, war, romantic "chick flicks", film noir and old B&W "Formula B"

(Okay, so I'm too lazy to list these out, too....)

Television

Yeah, well, if I had time...

24, Cold Case, CSI, Law and Order, Lost, Mythbusters, The Outer Limits, Smallville, SNL, Stargate, Star Trek, X-Files (among others...)

Books

Way too many from which to choose but here's a go on my "short list" (those books that have had a MAJOR influence on me):

The Knowledge of the Holy
by A. W. Tozer

Mere Christianity
by C. S. Lewis

The Maker's Diet
by Jordan S. Rubin

and (saving the best for last)...

... the Bible.

About me:

As a professing Christian, YOU determine how the world views JESUS.
To the world, YOU are JESUS!

(modified from an employee motivational poster; original author unknown)

My life revolves around family, church and ministry, community and work.*

In short, anything that involves people.

You see, we were created to have relationships. If you aren't sharing whatever it is that you love with others, it's meaningless. Worthless. A waste of time in a life that's already way too short!

I wish I had more time for everything else, but hey, that's the way things go!

If you want more personal attention from me, consider yourself invited to join me in any of the above...

... or ask me to join you in your life!

OH! Please feel free to visit my web site!

*Note: that WAS true until I got my present job (as someone recently pointed out to me).... No complaints about the work itself, in that it is good work and I need it to pay the bills, but I have come to view this more as an ideal these past several months... one that I hope to bring back into reality. Someday....

Who I'd like to meet:

New people. People who are different from me. People who share my interests. People who have different experiences than me. People who believe that life was meant to be shared and experienced with others. People like... you!
