In general I like any music I can dance to- and by dance I mean beautifully with someone not having some dude hump me on the dance floor...well unless he's really fine -the exception being reggeaton- I am falling in love with it, much to my surprise. My all time favorite genre is bachata- there is an excellent book on its history by Deborah Pacini-Hernandez.
The song is by one of my favorite Cuban singers- Celina Gonzalez- Rezo a Oya. She was also one of the first artists to use blatant references to the Orishas in music, as opposed to the veiled, hushed metaphors or saint's names. I also love A Perfect Circle. His voice is hauntingly beautiful and their songs are smart and/or quirky. I'd love to see one of the choreographers from So you think you can dance do a waltz to Orestes.

2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
