I finally made it to Atlanta! I got sick of hearing myself say "I have got to move to Atlanta". Like a friend of mine said "Boy, you just did the damn thing!". LOL! I have had enough of South Florida and all of the "not-so- good-luck" I've had in not meeting the right person. You would think with all the people there I would have NO problem but such was not the case. Just a bunch of sluts and shallow people.
March 2009:
Its been a year since I moved to the "A". Although its been fun, as they say "all that glitters isn't gold". But I picked up a new close friend or two. But the most ironic thing about my year is that I'm in a relationship with someone that I kicked it with in Florida for a quick minute who moved here a few months ago. Go figure. I's married now!
July 2009:
Wow. When Cherrelle said in her song in "Saturday Love" the phrase "Sometimes things just don't work out like we plan.."
who knew how profound and relative to my life that phrase would be. This Cancerian has reached another birthday this month and remains astounded at
just how my life continues to present challenges, roadblocks, changes, completely unforeseen circumstances and just random
character building tests. Living in Atlanta has been quite challenging to say the least. My career growth has slowed
due to this crazy economy, and so the word "budget" is something that definitely does not go unsaid or without thought too often. The
friggin' job market is filled with scores of talent looking for the same jobs I am and are grossly overqualified and landing the ones
I really want is damn near impossible. Its completely an employer's market...this shit is crazy. And they are looking for that person that meets every single job element...because
there is such a huge unemployed talent pool..they'll find it.
As for the boyfriend that I mentioned earlier this year...well
that too didn't work out as planned either..but its undoubtedly for the best. We truly make better friends than
lovers and we will continue to be such: Live together, share experiences, share finances, cook for each other and
do the things that any two friends would do. With that said....Fellas, where you AT???
In September, I'll be starting work towards my Masters degree in Marketing. A move strictly to make myself more marketable and expanding my
competitive edge.
Wow. If you asked me two years ago if I'd be living in ATL, doing a job I thought I'd NEVER be doing (and hating it with a passion), going back
to school (online grad school at that), oh and 25 pounds lighter (haaay!), I would have said that you were on crack.
This was not part of the plan! Thanks Cherrelle for reminding me of that. Never thought my 40s would be like this. Damn!
But I got my health, people who love me and want the best for me, brains, drive and ambition and a bunch of other qualities too mushy for myspace.
I'll be aight. LOL!

Join me for a great evening for a great cause. Comfort Zone Cooking in partnership with Initiaive Radio, has created an event that promises to be fantastic. Come out and taste pastries made by local area chefs and network with positive minded individuals and it's all happening in a great atmosphere (Tribeca).
I will be broadcasting my weekly radio show, InTouch with Cory George, live from the event.
When: Sunday, November 22, 2009 6:00 PM to Monday, November 23, 2009 12:00 AM

We continue this commitment with our next event, Pastry Tasting for Charity, on November 22, 2009.
