About me:
I am a 37 year old who has pretty much been raised in Florida. I absolutely love to travel, but that love seems to conflict with my other love - ANIMALS. I don't get to travel much because it is hard to find someone to come stay with my animals. I have 4 cats and 2 dogs and would love to live on a farm and stay home all day and take care of animals.
If I could I would go back to school and become a Veterinarian. However, I have a really good job in Tampa and it would be a financial blunder to leave it and start over again in a new field. I currently work at a company that sells water and wastewater treatment plant equipment. I work as the Assistant Controller and also manage other aspects of the company. It is a rewarding job with excellent benefits. I am indoors and out of the heat so I can't complain.
If I had my way, I would love to move to North Carolina or out west where there are mountains and a change of scenery as well as seasons. Doesn't look like that is going to happen any time soon.
I am happily married to my husband Chris. We have been married 11 1/2 years. He is my best friend.
I also love to garden (veggies and flowers) but the summer heat really gets to me and makes it hard to keep up with my yard. Florida winters are the best though and I always look forward to when things start to cool down.
My very best friend is Jen. She is also my cousin now. We went through high school together and she met my cousin Bruce at my graduation. They married a few years later and live in Oregon with their 4 children. She was the salutitorian and I was the valedictorian. She was Jennifer Lynn Smith and I was Jennifer Elaine Smith. We went by JE & JL. We had all our classes together and I miss seeing her everyday. We still e-mail each other regularly, but it isn't quite the same. I just miss her.
God has blessed me with a wonderful Sister, Julie, whom I love dearly. She lives in North Carolina and I love her more now than ever. She has a huge heart and has taught me so many positive things throughout my life. She always seems to be watching over me and I'm glad I get to see her more often than I used to.
God has also brought a wonderful encouraging friend Cathy into my life. We have developed an amazing relationship and I consider her my closest friend here. We both enjoy music, scrapbooking, making cards, going out to eat. She has a great get away place up in the Ocala National Forest that we get to go to - just the two of us. It is a wonderful place to get away to the quiet and enjoy nature. It is also nice because her Dalmation "Woodsy" comes along with us - so I'm pretty much in heaven.
My parents still live in Lakeland so I get to see them quite often. Mom meets me for lunch on Wednesdays. I am very close to both of them. Overall I am very happy with where my life is.
