About me:
I am a part-time instructor at two local universities, teaching classes in music appreciation and music theory. For a full time job, I work at a local business doing basic call center work. It's not ideal, but it's a job!
My main musical endeavor is Irish traditional music -- I play penny whistle and bodhran (an Irish frame drum). The latter instrument has become my main one of late and I love it! You can find me every other weekend playing tunes down at Kitty Hoyne's. It's a great place -- good food, good people, good music, and the best pints of Guinness in town.
My partner in life, David, is also an Irish traditional musician. We've played backup on a couple CDs for friends. One was for our friend, Neidfyre. You can hear clips of the CD, waddles from the Sea, and find out where to order the album on her myspace page. We are also on Merry Mischief's latest CD, Scally Wags.
David and I are owned by one amazing dog, a border collie/lab mix named Dahlia. We adopted her in May 2008 after meeting her on a rescue transport. You can read her whole story here. Many pictures of our girl are in my photo album!
In my spare time, I help out with rescuing dogs. I do volunteer dog transporting to help get dogs from high-kill shelters to various rescues, foster homes, and forever homes. You can read all about it at Diary of a Dog Transporter.
