About me: I am a novelist/playwright/theater director. Recent projects were a calypso musical version of Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle and a picture book about probability entitled A Very Improbable Story (Charlesbridge Press) which came out in February.
I also run the Untitled Theater Company #61, a New York based theater company that presents what I call a Theater of Ideas, with a strong absurdist influence. Our most prominent projects have been out festivals: The Havel Festival (all the plays of Vaclav Havel), The Ionesco Festival (all the plays of Eugene Ionesco), and the NEUROfest (plays based on neurological conditions.
Plays I've written include Off-Broadway show (which I co-wrote and directed) "Fairy Tales of the Absurd"; a number of plays about neurological conditions such as aphasia ("Linguish"), Korsakov's Syndrome ("Strangers"), and Aspergers ("The Boy Who Wanted to be a Robot"); a number of Jewish-themed plays such as "Golem Stories," "The Living Methuselah," and "A Shylock"; and a few others on a variety of subjects.
I'm currently working on a number of projects: a picture book about probablility, a play about my grandfather (who discovered the Rh factor in blood), another Oz novel, a play about Rudolf II, a short movie about sausage entitled "Carniovores", and many others.
Who I'd like to meet: I'm looking for people who share my interests, whether it be children's fantasy, absurdist theater, neurology, Jewish legends, puppetry, Czech Theater, or anything else.
Just finished reading your Paradox in Oz. Wonderful! It was really enjoyable to return to reading about adventures in Oz like I did when I was younger.
CRAZY! I may actually be able to make it! I am in Bridgewater on Sunday for my sister-in-law's baby shower, so I might be able to get to Westfield on Sat! Send me the details on the book signing!!
