Graduated McGill Jazz program 2004 under guidance of a great pianist Jeff Johnston, and has played with awesome musicians in or from Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto. and Halifax, too! The newest thing is the MIKE ESSOUDRY OCTET. An awesome project. check it out www.myspace.com/mikeessoudry. My first release was done in Lyon, France with TRIO RESISTANCES+fred roudet. Featuring all original material. Released April 2007. It is called "ANIMOts". I am planning a series of solo concerts in the (near) future. The goal there is to express the entire breadth of my pianistic/compositional ability through the process of improvisation and engagement. I use the electric piano to voice it out. I also use a laptop occasionally to draw sounds even further out...
On the education side, i continue to work closely with the Shine Foundation, an Ottawa-based arts charity dedicated to innovation in development of the music scene. for audience, businesses , students and musicians alike it is a new model taking shape, and chalk full of inspirational ideas and action from inspirational people!
