After the breakup of Daycare For Dave "I decided to just write, sing and produce my own songs." I didn't want to (and couldn't) depend on four or five guys sticking it out as a group anymore. I learned a lot during the recording process of our final CD "Noize in the neighborhood", especially the engineering side. So I started "Addicted Records". I wanted to produce and engineer my debut solo CD "The right amount of drunk". It's great, I work when I'm inspired and I don't have to worry about the clock $$.
Some of the songs are left over ideas I had from the "DFD" days but most I started to write just for this CD. During the writing process my friend, bassist and songwriting partner Marshall came in and helped me with some chord changes, lyrics and background vocals. I'd say he co-wrote about a third of the CD.
In the studio I play all of the instruments, sing and shape all the loops. Marshall Davis does 90% of the backing vocals and most of the bass trax. Chuck Crenshaw (Rubicon, Red) plays keys on a few songs. I really like to include the live element in my recordings.
For the live shows it's the "Blue Widows" - Jeff Murphy (Allrise, Rubicon) on drums / backing vocals and Nori Iji (DFD, The Bunk) on Bass.
This CD is a blend of all my influences from Rock, Punk, Pop, Country and the Blues.
Also, I own & operate 3rd St. Studios. We work with Songwriters, Hip Hop artists, Rock, Pop, Country, Movie & Commercial producers etc.
$25.00 hr. with engineer. We also offer Online Mastering.
