About me:

American Meth is a cross-country journey that focuses on several facets of the methamphetamine epidemic. From the oil fields of Wyoming and New Mexico to the homeless in Portland and the teens of Montana, filmmaker Justin Hunt spins a blue-collar tale of tragedy and triumph. Actor Val Kilmer lends his voicing talents as your narrator while exploring both the damage being done and the community efforts to reclaim America. The movie culminates with the introduction of James and Holly, a pair of meth addicts and the parents of four children, who let Justin into their lives. American Meth does two things: It informs of the devastation that this drug is imposing on our country, and it encourages Americans that it is possible to rescue our friends, our neighbors, our families, one person at a time...

Hi Justin,

Hope you are well and life is good to you. I am going really well these days. Lots has happened over the last 12 months. Hope the success of your American Meth project continues to expand in leaps and bounds. Every single day through my work, i continue to see the destructive effects of drug addiction and what it does to the person and their family. It's such an unrelenting vicious cycle. All i can say is keep up the amazing work and never give up.

Meth addiction is a serious problem all over the U.S.I was a hard meth addict for almost 2 years.I've been clean a year next week.It was one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life,but it was well worth it.90% of meth users relapse,I'm a part of the 10% that don't.Stay strong,pray,and look into your children's eyes and know you can do it,and they deserve the best of you.Good Luck.

(CONTINUED FROM ROCKNROBIN) worht of debt. i've lost my hope, my faith, my motivation, my career, my family, and ME. justin - next time you make a film, i urge you to exemplify the TRUE BRUTALITY of drugs in our society. and, not just the family that was able to crawl out of their shithole. I do not know if i'll now make it out of mine, and i doubt if my ex-friend, lover and lifelong companion will either. tell the real truth and show your viewers the real worst side of how drugs are permitted into our country, our cities, and our homes. thank you for displaying some of the horror of drug use and addiction. peace be with all of you. rock on, brothers and sisters, rocknrobin.

dear justin and to all involved in the making of AMERICAN METH. i watched your movie because i lost my world to drugs. i'm leaving this comment so others can read it. i hope to make a difference to the world in sharing my experience with being married to a drug addict. my husband became addicted to many substances and used coke, heroin, crack, and i believe he also used meth. perspective is a strange thing...we had everything. we were millionaires, had a gorgeous home, coveted by many, two beautiful dogs, vehicles and what i thought, a beautiful love we shared. the truth behind our world was that my husband had become a ravaged drug addict unbeknownst to me. he blamed everything - the no sleeping, the pacing, the nervousness, the gaunt, horrible sunken face, the forty pound weightloss - it all on "the stress of the company", "the stress of being self-employed"... i was naive about drug use and never fathomed that a man who had a genius i.q., talented in WHATEVER he wanted to be good at, was slave to drugs. if i would have known the signs of drug use, i probably wouldn't have lost our homes, our company, our lives...my dearest best friend in the world, lover, and ' 'til death do us part' companion. your film explored many sides of the world of meth, however - it was sugarcoated. i believe that for a true impact of what this chemical has done to our friends, lovers, parents, children...that you should have SHOWN the sores, the horrible weightloss, the malnutrition, and brain damage, sheer desperation -- everything that constitutes a meth head. i've lost my husband, and it is now too late to regain anything we had. we also had a wonderful original rock band. it is also gone. my future was taken by these different drugs that are permitted into our country, our society, our homes... my past was made almost nonexistent by the same. i'm not 48 years old, have filed chapter 13 on over $700,000.
