Like Reggaeton, which emerged from the barrios of Puerto Rico, African Hip Hop is taking its place as a new international music style gaining recognition in North America today.
AMU Music, a subsidiary label of A ROUND WORLD has arrived as the leader in the African Hip Hop movement and is the premier record label blending traditional African rhythms and vocals with beats and rhymes made popular by the Hip Hop culture in the United States.
The label will initially feature a line up of acclaimed Hip Hop, Reggae, R&B and other urban music style hybrids from Senegal including Gokh-Bi System, African Akhlou Bi,Toni Blackman, Ass Malick, Kaissa, Waflash, Fafadi, Rahmane Diallo, Dialia and Sana .....
The label announced its plans for an Ancient Meets Urban? African Relief Tour featuring Gokh-Bi System and several other AMU artists (to be announced). AMU artists will help put a voice and a face toward the worldwide effort to relieve Africa of its enormous debt and fight its immense and growing AIDS crisis. In addition, the tour will bring together African Americans with their African heritage and raise the profile of Africa in the hearts and minds of the world community.
