"Live Evel" 12" EP
Prolyphic - "Artist Goes Pop" 12" EP, Feat. B. Dolan, Alias, Sage Francis
B. Dolan is the complete package. He’s got the voice, the delivery, the lyrics and the high powered performance. The only thing he’s been missing, up until right now, is a beat-smith who can match what he brings to the table while hanging with him through an entire project.
His 2008 debut album, “The Failure,” is an eclectic mix of poetry, story telling and emceeing. The content and style of this project challenges the listener with controversial subject matter delivered with a brutal intensity. Dolan’s follow-up album, “Fallen House, Sunken City” will do more of the same…only this time around it is a full scale rap album produced exclusively by indie-hop’s beat extraordinaire, Alias.
Dolan became widely known in activist circles as the creator and co-founder of Knowmore.org in 2004. Prior to that he dominated the slam poetry world before deciding that there were better ways to use ones energy and talent. Since signing to SFR, Dolan has released the “Live Evel” vinyl EP, “The Failure” CD, and featured on Prolyphic & Reanimator’s “The Ugly Truth.” He has also earned his road stripes doing multiple tours (national and international) with Sage Francis, Buck 65, Dan le sac Vs. Scroobius Pip, and Grand Buffet.
There’s a special pleasure we get when we play B. Dolan’s demo songs to people who are unaware of his emcee abilities. The first reaction is usually one of shock as it fades into a strange confusion as to why we’d keep material like this under wraps. “All in good time, my friends. All in good time.”
B. Dolan (feat. Alias) “Fallen House, Sunken City” is slated for release in late summer of 2009...
