The BurnDown All-Stars are going international. Featured in "Bodog Music’s Battle of the Bands" a reality show set to air in the US, Canada and Europe on the Fuse Network July 8th at 8pm, this grass roots independent movement is poised to beat the odds and become your next favorite band.
BurnDown began in August 2002 when founding members Dave Quicks , RokBottom & Kuf Knotz began recording their friends in a warehouse in the East Falls section of Philly. By the time they were finished they had an eighteen-song album (BurnDown presents…Volume 1, The Outside Connect Jawn) representing forty of the best musicians, dj’s, singers and emcees Philly had to offer. Over the next couple of years, along with other founding members Carlito Attack and Kuf Knots, BurnDown began building a traveling team, an All-Star band. By the 2005 release of BurnDown’s second album (BurnDown presents… Volume 2), the All-Stars line-up had solidified. The current twelve man crew has been playing together ever since. Joining guitarist and singer Dave Quicks and emcees Kufie, RokBottom and Carlito is Tom Walling on drums, Rico Joseph on bass, emcees Lord Biz, The Dialects and JawnZap7 and Tom Copson on lead guitar.
A steady performance schedule has the All-Stars’ live show on point. In fact, BDAS was recently named the best independent band in the Northeast at the Independent Music World Series hosted by DiscMakers and Billboard Magazine. BurnDown also has been chosen to represent Philadelphia in the nationwide Bodog Music Battle of the Bands, a touring reality show which will eventually award one band out of seventeen, a million dollar record contract. The band has shared the stage with Steel Pulse, Common, The Roots and many more.
BDAS have finished recording what is essentially their first record as a band at BurnDown Studios in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. The band is looking forward to a busy summer, now that they have a smoking hot new release "Wake Up" and continue to tour.

Hello my name is godHead The General c.e.o. of T.H.O.R.TakeOver Records
I want to take the time to ask and explain why we should be nominated
for best new label in Philadelphia for the Philly Hip Hop Awards.
T.H.O.R. is an acronym for Truth, Honor, Originality and Realism
something the Hip Hop music industry has been missing. We are a back to
basic hip hop label that thrive on these 4 main principles.
We labeled it a takeover to express our desire to change the existing
hip hop mainstream sound. We did this by taking our destiny into our
own hands. T.H.O.R.TakeOver in 2006 started a weekly free event to
expose our artists to the public and to have the world acknowledge our
existence. Now our event was unique in it approach. We started a street
corner emcee freestyle type cipher at Medusa Lounge that brought in
acts from New York City, New Jersey, Boston, Rhode Island, New Orleans,
Denver, Texas, Washington DC, Delaware, Seattle, Atlanta, Baltimore and
several other states I don't recall at the moment. By 2007 we were host
to 2 events in Philadelphia one in Center City (Liquid Charm) and
Universal City (The Underground under the CoPa) while sending our
artists out on Tour. Understand artists at our level needed an outlet
to express their originality so we kept promoting events to make sure
our artists and other artists can have a home.
By 2008 we launched T.H.O.R.TakeOver Records as an official label we had
Blackmoon's BuckShot (c.e.o. of Duck Down Records) as the headliner of
our Record Label launch party. During this year our artist were
touring and we were holding down an event in Philadelphia (Liquid
Charm) and in New York City(The Knitting Factory). T.H.O.R.TakeOver
Records not only help expose their own artists but also other local
Philadelphia artists.
T.H.O.R.TakeOver Records along with other labels and entertainment
company's has helped introduce the world to the independent
Philadelphia
