I am participating in 2 Rides this year:
-- "Braking the Cycle Ride" = 275 miles across 3 states to NYC
-- "The Smart Ride" = 150 miles from Miami to Key West
-- Miami-Dade AIDS Walk, April 2009
-- Washington, DC AIDS Walk, October 2009
Special Note: Because of fees related to donations only those of $5 or greater make economic sense. :-) My "Braking The Cycle" fundraising page acts as the conduit for ALL fully tax deductible donations. The Braking The Cycle team will distribute funds to the 9 benefiting organizations at the end of 2009.
The youngest and only boy of four children, Arndt attended the Hotchkiss School, a private school in his native Connecticut, and won a fellowship for a 13th year at Harrow College in Northwest London. He earned his undergraduate degree in history, with honors, at Yale University in 1990, where he was graduated cum laude. He was captain of the undefeated golf team, named All-New England for two years, qualified for the NCAAs twice, and was named All-Ivy for three years, winning individual honors his sophomore year. He played professional golf for a time, before entering Harvard University for an MBA in 1995. He was President of the Harvard Graduate School Leadership and Ethics Forum, Chairman and Founder of the Annual Harvard Business, Law, and Kennedy School of Government Debate, and President of the Harvard Business School Gay and Lesbian Student Association. He worked as an investment banker for Morgan Stanley in the US, Europe and Asia or five years as well as in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles for three years. As the former Public Relations and Marketing Manager for Care Resource, South Florida's oldest and largest HIV/AIDS services organization, he produced the 2005 AIDS Walk Miami, and spearheaded the 21st annual White Party, its week-long fund-raiser, which, at his initiative, emphasized a zero tolerance drug policy. Arndt help found and finance four companies and is presently working full time with two of those companies; he is Co-Founder|EVP of Business Development at www.MerchantAdvantage.com, a Miami-based, e-commerce software company, and is on the Board of Directors and EVP of Strategy at www.Flimp.net, a Boston based, rich media, video email company. Arndt remains politically active and is a Florida, elected Delegate to the 2008 National Democratic Convention.

GAY AMERICAN HEROES
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender individuals are subject to hate crimes everyday in America. It is time to show this
reality in a way that reveals the impact of hate on our countrys citizens and educate the public about the ever present danger
facing the LGBT community.
The Gay American Heroes Memorial is the opportunity to
show the result of hate against people for simply being
who they are.
The goal of the Gay American Heroes Foundation is to take
our traveling memorial to communities throughout the USA to
honor the lives of LGBT people who have died as a result of
hate crimes based on their sexual orientation and gender
identity. This will also help to educate the public about hate
crimes as well as inspire compassion and acceptance of all
people.
We also want to reach out to communities as soon as possible
following a deadly anti-gay hate crime. Our foundation, with the
support of our sister organizations, work to support the family
and friends of the victim, as well as work with local officials, law
enforcement, and service organizations to provide counseling
and outreach.
We need your help! Please join us in this historic project today
by adopting a hero or sending us your tax-deductible donation
today!
HEROES:
All people who live honestly about their sexual orientation or gender identity are heroic, as it takes great strength and courage to face the daily struggles for personal freedom in the face of enormous opposition; to ultimately give their life for said freedom makes them heroes.
Many people on the Gay American Heroes exhibit are heroes for the way they died and all were heroes for living as who they truly were.
