Daniel Chauvin is a force to be reckoned with on the Northeastern folk and acoustic scene. Born and raised in his hometown of Linwood Massachusetts, Daniel blends the traditional folk sounds of his New England roots with more contemporary rock and country influences to create and original, ear-catching, almost bluegrass finger-style acoustic work that is creatively his own.
Having toured the Northeast for this third straight year after the release of his debut CD "UNRESOLVED" in 2005, Daniel continues to do what he does best...making music, live performances, and recording.
His second release "BETTER PLACES" on the Cherry Grove record label is finally available and has already received airplay after only a few weeks.
"UNRESOLVED" can be ordered through BORDERS by asking for BINC 8780235.($9.99).... "BETTER PLACES" is also available through BORDERS by asking for BINC 9438405 ($11.99)... Individual tracks, and entire album downloads are available at significant savings at the NIMBIT online store listed above... Feel free to email Daniel directly with any questions, comments or direct order (paypal accepted) at danchauvin@hotmail.com. And, as always, Daniel and his management wish to thank you for your ongoing, enthusiastic and inspiring support...Because, without YOU...it all means nothing...Thank you.
Music Heals.
My show went OK, too./.. but no booking agents at Jitters! Yes, Dale and I recommended you to Ed, so after my break, he headed over to Borders. Glad he said 'hi'. I'm sure he enjoyed it.
Hi Dan....so sorry to hear about your van...we are looking forward in when you can reschedule so we can hear your beautiful music...keep me posted as to when you can reschedule for Schenectady!
Congrats on the airplay!! And good luck with the turkeys. Gigs seem slower this year for me, but I'll be playing on Sunday, and then again on May 3rd (dang it), not far from where you'll be playing at Borders. Hey, we still have snow in the back yard, where the garden is... but it's ALMOST gone. The weather's been great, but back to more normal weather for April next week. (I'll be opening my gig on Sunday with S&G's 'April Come She Will'. ) Catch ya sometime soon, I hope.
I've been going back and forth in my mind between Med School or going to grad school to get a PhD and teach at a university/college...I'll figure it out I'm sure. I'm pretty excited about my shows this summer though. It's been really helpful having friends in a band that plays around the area, I've gotten all my contact info from them which made the whole process much easier. Are you coming back around Saratoga Springs anytime soon?
Hi Dan...I started my new job this week at a new school...been busy...but I am really looking forward in meeting you and hearing your great music in a few days at the Moon and River Cafe....Have a great day!
Heyy, thanks a lot. I've decided to take some real initiative and play at least those four shows this summer. I've been writing/playing a lot lately so I hope it works out. I hope all is well for you.
You're a mighty fine man, Mr Chauvin. Thanks for the comment. Mind you - you need to see how much space our drummer takes up on stage before wanting to jump on up here with us!
Just gave Better Places a proper first listen. Loving the atmosphere you and the band have created. Sounds like you had great but laid back fun making it. Not a fan of lame comparisons but will make some anyway for any other readers out there: splashes of The Eagles, Bruce Cockburn (if you haven't heard of him check him out) and some mighty fine lead guitar work straight out of the Jackson Brown lexicon. Go on - buy it - you know it makes sense!
