The Greater Des Moines Music Coalition (DMMC) is a non-profit organization, and collaborative movement committed to building a stronger and more diverse live music economy in greater Des Moines.

The second annual 80/35 was on July 3 and 4, 2009, at Western Gateway Park in downtown Des Moines. Ben Harper and Relentless7, Public Enemy, Broken Social Scene, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, and many more performed on 3 stages. Relive all the magic at 80-35.com.
Gross Domestic Product returned for the fourth straight year on Saturday, April 11 at Hotel Fort Des Moines. This years’ lineup was packed with performances from some of the top talent in Iowa, including 9 new acts to the GDP roster. GDP will return in 2010.
Little BIG Fest is an annual jam, alt-country, bluegrass, roots rock music festival. Started in Fall 2006, LBF has featured talented acts such as Trampled by Turtles, Mr. Baber’s Neighbors, Floodplane, and Brother Trucker.
Each month the DMMC helps promote a local show at venues across the Des Moines metro. Hitting different venues and multiple genres, Concert Corps hopes to get more people out to shows to support local musicians and venues. So far, we've been to House of Bricks, Shooter's Hideaway, Vaudeville Mews, Grand Piano Bistro, The Warehouse, People's Court, Mars Cafe, and Blues on Grand. Music University (MU) is a FREE music business education series designed to provide artists and industry professionals advice on making a living through music in Central Iowa. Local and regional experts lead panel discussions covering a wide variety of topics of interest to anyone trying to move ahead in the music industry. MU is organized by the Greater Des Moines Music Coalition. Stay tuned for details on the next panel.
