MySpacea place for friends

Sending me messages through MySpace is the worst possible way to try to get ahold of me if you want a response sooner than next month sometime.

To actually get ahold of me you can:

• E-mail me at michael [dot] hanscom [at] gmail [dot] com,
• visit and leave a comment on one of the posts on my weblog or my LiveJournal,
• or visit and leave a comment on one of my pictures.

Any one of those three methods are a lot more likely to get my attention than anything through MySpace ever will.

I hate MySpace with the burning hate of a thousand suns. Unfortunately, there are too many people who have been sucked in here, so I keep my account active simply to keep contact with them until they finally see the light and run screaming from this broken, ugly, kludgy, piece of crap of a website.

So, sure, add me as a friend if you want. Just don't expect to hear from me very often.

Really, people. Please. Why do you actively try to make your pages as loud and annoying as possible? Is driving people away from your page really the best way to approach a social networking site?

Just say NO to embedded music players.
