ECFOP played their LAST EVER gig at 333 in Old Street, London on Friday 3rd August. We'd like to say a huge "THANKS !" to everyone who came and partied with us and helped see us off in style. It was emotional. And possibly the tightest set we'd played in eons. But Jim didn't bother turning up for it, and my mate got mugged and left for dead outside after we'd all left. All for a £30 mobile phone. F**kin crackheads.
SPOON & SQUIBS intend to continue under a new, shorter, name.
If you wanna hear what we were working on just before it all went wrong, there are some very lo-fi recordings here.
But here's the brief history anyway.
First gig August 2003. Founder member Degs left in May 2004. Band spent 2 months training his replacement Dom only to have him jump ship after a trip to Rotherham. After abortive attempts to find a replacement and 3 months sulking ECFOP decided to accept life as a trio, with occasional help (when he's available) from Ed from the Roolettes. Should have released 2 albums, 4 singles and done a tour of Europe by now, but retraining guitarists and having recording studios close down while recording an album has slowed progress somewhat. In spite of this ECFOP have managed to rack up supports with the Libertines, Babyshambles, Selfish C*nt, Art Brut, The Rocks, Dogs d'Amour and many others, been played on XFM and had 2 tracks released on an internationally released compilation. And they've played in Koln. 2007 will be their year. Honest.
I went to this band's myspace and they advertise gigs on there. They're incredibly cheap ;0) i don't know how they do it, but it's only like a 5er (excilerating!). I think they probably use Indian child labour but anyway... i can't believe they put these pictures of themselves up there neither :-O
I mean what were they thinking!!! You should really go to one of their gigs...
Hey I fo....und this site where they do some kind of spe....cial search to find out who is your crush is on you cell phone. I don't know hw they did it but it works. Try it by clicking here
