About
Ed Rome is acclaimed writer, recording artist and producer. Since the late 90’s Ed has written and recorded 7 albums as well as material for other artists and countless guest spots. His most recent album received much praise, most notable being Steve Lamacq naming it the best reggae album of 08 on his BBC Radio 2 show.
Live:
As an international touring artist Ed’s encapsulating, honest energetic live show has allowed him to tour Australia, Japan, Dubai, continental Europe every corner of the British isles. Festival highlights include Glastonbury (05, 07+09), Byron Bay Blues and Roots (Aus.), Summer Sonic (Jap.)
As well as being tour support for the 'Easy Star All Stars' (Radiodread/Dub side of the moon) countless live sessions around the world for artists such as ‘The Beat’, ‘Lee Perry’ and members of ‘The Specials’ has secured his reputation on the live circuit.
Writing:
Since his most recent release ‘A Life in Minutes’ (Oct 08) Ed has been interviewed on the BBC 2 Steve Lamacq show and received extensive national radio play namely from Don Letts (BBC 6), David Rodigan (Kiss FM) and Alex Lester (BBC 2) and Steve Lamacq (BBC 2/6).
Ed is a multi instrumentalist and versatile songwriter penning music in many genres but concentrating on Folk, Blues, Ska, Reggae and Afrobeat. Currently penning the 10th album he has written, He is also not afraid to take things a step further and pen stories that run through the albums including unique spoken word sections (see website for albums Play ‘04+Day Release ‘06)
What next:
After spending 08/09 doing mainly Reggae and Ska he’ll now be doing more stripped down shows focusing on a more mixed genre set so keep your eyes on the website.
