On October 18th, 2007, Electric Jellyfish lost two members of their family when their tour bus crashed on the way from Detriot to New York during their US tour. Vocalist/Guitarist Hayden Sweeney and photographer Bridget O’Brien were and will always be an indispensable part of the Electric Jellyfish identity, and are dearly missed. The boys are currently recovering, resting, travelling, and writing in eager anticipation of the next round Jellyfish shows and recordings, which are most certainly on the horizon. In the meantime, Michael Beach will be playing some solo shows which will be announced shortly.
Electric Jellyfish is an animal – there’s no doubt about that. Illusive, luminescent, and chaotic, they are not easily forgotten. Sunken deep beneath an ocean of people, they believe that a comfortable systematic lifestyle will eventually consume all.
After spending two years exploring the recesses of the sprawling Melbourne music scene and touring both in Australia and America, Electric Jellyfish has developed a devout and curious following. Their first EP "Attacking the City" was released to rave reviews, despite being belted-out within a month of the band's formation. Since that time, a hectic writing, rehearsing, and touring schedule has resulted in a new collection of music expected for independent release in 2008. With bootleg EPs already making the rounds, the new LP is expected to be an escalation of Electric Jellyfish's intensity and songwriting prowess.
