For all the good and the bad, L.A. is home. Someone should stand up for this place and praise it for what it's good for, which is usually the opposite of what gets press. In bars, at concerts, there are real people, and Fight From Above is out there every day living with them and playing for them.

WITHOUT FURTHER ADO, THE FIGHT FROM ABOVE BIO...
In a city of hype, Los Angeles indie band Fight From Above has found themselves playing to a very specialized demographic, the common burn-bright and burn-out L.A. local. Instead of trying to become a part of the self-absorbed promotional machine, these four longtime friends are celebrating their independence from the myriad of hot-then-not clubs and endless shiny-shirted bottle service addicts. They are the dive bar regulars, the late night greasy diner crowd, the ones who hang upside down from street signs.
Zack (guitars and vocals) and Dave (drums) met in middle school, but the band wasn’t fully formed until the duo met Miner (guitars and vocals) and Krook (bass) as college freshmen. They wrote their music in downtown L.A. before the crowds arrived and have been winning over audiences since 2005. After two EPs, Tigers of Toluca (2005) and It's Just Something to Say (2006), the band is working on their full length debut, L.A. Kids (December 2008 release). The album is an homage to the unmarked, questionable joints with which they’ve fallen in love over the years. In a city known for passing trends, Fight From Above is planting roots and creating something for those who are proud to call the real Los Angeles home.
Hello! Thx 4 letting me add your band. I am one of the promoters for SDB -- The Siri Dyal Band (my top friend)-- whom will be the last band on for the Troubadour show the 20th. The contract advises co-promotion with the bands of the evening. What do you say we brainstorm on getting the word out? I turned down the Whiskey for this show, so I especially know it will be a huge spontaneous blast, as every SDB show is. Let's all party before, during, and afterwards.
PS I really look fwds to hearing everybody's tunes soon(no audio here at my friend's).
