Our songs range
from well-known lively "Irish pub standards" (Whiskey in the Jar, WaxiesDargle, Johnny Jump Up,
The Irish Rover, Star of the County Down, Spanish Lady, Leaving of Liverpool,
Black Velvet Band, I'll tell me Ma, Dirty Old Town, The Old Woman from Wexford,
etc), to moving, lyrical ballads (The Fields of Athenry,
The Rare Old Times, On Raglan Road, etc) and unaccompanied traditional songs
(She Moved Through the Fair, My Lagan Love, etc).
Our tunes are all
taken from the Irish tradition. Our extensive repertoire of reels, jigs,
polkas, hornpipes and airs ranges from fast and furious tunes for dancing, to
haunting Celtic melodies to make you cry into your Guinness!
Our Dances: A
barn dance/ceilidh is always a memorable event.
People of all ages may take part and thus it is far more suitable for a wedding
reception than a disco! We have more than 15 years experience of playing Irish
music for dancing and have worked with many different callers and Irish dance
sides. For barn dances we have a large portfolio of dances suitable for both
beginners and experts alike. In addition, we can provide demonstrations/lessons
in Irish step dancing.
Very nice, always good to see other seasoned folkies out there. Cheers from north Texas, the westernmost part of County Sligo. Siochain agus saoirse, Cynthia
