Introducción
Mariano Cantero, un amigo y en ese momento
mi profesor de percusión,
deseaba desde hace un tiempo adquirir un Hang.
Por su alto costo era difícil conseguirlo,
y con Ary que lo queremos mucho
queríamos hacerle un gran regalo para su cumpleaños...
Así nació el Garrahand.
Investigamos diferentes formas de llegar a un sonido
similar al plato volador Europeo,
utilizando variedad de materiales reciclados.
Gusto tanto, que nos dijeron: Por que no hacen mas?
Empezamos a investigar posibilidades,
otros materiales de construcción y otros tamaños
De la conversación e intercambio con músicos que lo probaban
(muchos de la Bomba de tiempo, como Santiago Vázquez)
la búsqueda se fue orientando hacia
lograr el menor tamaño y peso,
con el mejor volumen acústico posible,
y en buscar una forma
practica de poder usarlo en vivo (micrófono interno).
El resultado de este trabajo es el Standard Garrahand, el modelo que trabajamos ahora.

Todo el proceso es llevado a cabo de forma enteramente Artesanal,
por Ary Lacanna y Federico Parra,
en su taller en el partido de Gral. San Martín
El Garrahand puede ser indicado para ensambles musicales de cualquier tipo,
como ser Garrahand y Voz, o combinado con piano, guitarras;
orquesta de Garrahands, ensambles con percusión..
También puede ser utilizado en diferentes trabajos musicoterapéuticos
como
talleres, meditaciones...
Su sonido lo hace ideal para acompañar una voz.
Estamos felices de este instrumento y
esperamos muchos encuentren en el

Introduction
Mariano Cantero, my friend and percussion teacher
for a while, had been wanting to acquire a Hang
for some time, but this was difficult due to its high cost.
My friend Ary and I truely appreciate him and we wanted to give him a special birthday present...
Thus, the Garrahand was born
We researched different ways to achieve a sound that was similar to the “European UFO”,
using a variety of recycled materials..
Everybody liked it so much that they told us:
“Why don't you make some more?”
We started researching possibilities,
different materials and sizes.
After conversations and exchange with the musicians that tried it (many of them from La Bomba del Tiempo, such as Santiago Vazquez) our search started to be aimed to achieving the smallest size and lightest weight, with the best sound and acoustic volume possible, and to creating a convenient way to play it live (internal microphone).
The result of such work is the Standard Garrahand, the model we produce nowadays.

The whole process is handcrafted by Ary Lacanna and Federico Parra at their workshop in Gral San Martín area, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Garrahand may be suitable for any kind of musical ensembles, such as Garrahand and voice, or combined with piano, guitars, percussion ensembles or even Garrahand orchestras.
It can also be used on different music therapies such as workshops, meditations... Its sound is ideal to accompany human voice.
We are happy with this instrument and we hope that many people find on it what they are looking for.
