Formed in august 2007 at Padang-Indonesia , The Giving started playing punk rock with formation aB(drum), Dimas(guitar/vox), Alfin (bass/vox). On january 2009, Hadri join in and play guitar. On march 2009, aB resign from the band and replace by Abdi Tunggal Rosel.
Formed by “the boringness of everything”, until now they are still survive in their own way to spread the idea about “society and freedom”. Wanted to bring new wave into punk rock music style, they always try to experiment with different composition. That’s why they call their music “experimental punk” or “XPunk”.
“For us, XPunk is a process, there’s still a very long way until we get there. It involve many things including musical style, lyric, ideology, influence, and brainstorming. And the most important thing, it will be the best with the support of the music community and all the people around the world including you” they said.
