HPB (High Peaks Band) have been around since 2006.We started as a 6 piece Grateful Dead tribute band. We concentrated mostly on shows from the late 70's. The era when we felt the Dead were at their most creative and accomplished musically.
HPB has seen its ups and downs. With Phriends coming and going due to lifes many curveballs!
The core group has always been Mikey Dreads ( Bass), Lenny( rythym guitar/ vocals), and Rick (lead guitar/ vocals). These three have been playing together from HPB's conception and have become a three headed monster. Weaving delicate runs through thundering passages, the three main members have become able to complete the others' sentences on stage.
There has been a number of keyboard players and drummers who have sat in. Along the way we made some Phriends( Tim, Bob, Nick) and played with a wide spectrum of players.
We have since started to expand our catalogue with songs by Phish, Moe, Dylan, Traffic, Stones, originals, and many others.
We still play all your Grateful Dead favorites and some obscure tunes. We like to keep people dancing, and seem to do a good job of it.
So come on out to a HPB show and see familiar faces, have a couple of drinks and just let loose.
