About me:
The American Anti-Slavery Group is a U.S.-based non-profit dedicated to the abolition of modern day slavery. While many believe that the slave trade ended some time ago, there are still over 27 million people held in bondage today.
In working to abolish modern-day slavery and provide support and empowerment to survivors, AASG’s programs are geared toward promoting awareness, engaging in advocacy and activism, and providing direct aid for victims.
Slavery isn't history. It's a modern human rights crisis that has only begun to be addressed. Learn more about this grave injustice and find out what you can do.

CATW Announces Its 2nd Action In Our Campaign Against HBO’s Cathouse
On September 23, 2008 CATW will hold a 2nd picket line in front of the corporate offices of HBO located at 1100 6th Avenue at 42nd St. to protest their ‘reality series’ Cathouse set in a brothel. We will address HBO’s ongoing glamorization of prostitution by erasing its harms. HBO continues to distinguish itself as the industry leader in aggressively promoting the acceptance of prostitution which fuels sex trafficking. HBO, with its multiple pro-prostitution programming, is working to normalize the demand for commercial sexual exploitation. Please join CATW on our picket line as we continue to expose the truth about how HBO is eroding human rights by continuing to profit from the world’s oldest oppression.
When: September 23, 2008 Where: HBO Corporate offices 1100 Sixth Avenue, between 42nd and 43rd Streets Time: 12:30pm-2pm
