Info over mijzelf: The world's greatest superhero. Superman's first public appearance in Metropolis was to save an experimental space plane. The "flying man" soon reappeared in Metropolis in a bright red and blue costume. He caused a sensation, and the press took to calling him "Superman". The first full length story on Superman appeared in the Daily Planet, and was written by Clark Kent.
Superman began his career in Metropolis, and quickly reassured puzzled police. During his early adventures, Superman discovered his vulnerability to magic and Kryptonite. After causing the arrest of Lex Luthor, Superman found Luthor to be a constant threat. Soon after Superman's debut, criminal groups like Intergang and superpowered villains like Metallo soon began to appear. The Special Crimes Unit was created to deal with these extraordinary threats, and Superman works closely with them. He is a duly deputized special operative of the Metropolis police force.
The public soon learned that Superman was an alien, but Metropolis learned to trust him, especially as he made it clear that he was raised on Earth, and considered himself an American. Superman's DNA is incompatible with humans; he will be unable to father children on an Earth woman. Luthor, himself the proud father of a baby girl, is not above cruelly reminding Superman of that fact. Superman, could, in fact, mate with Maxima, but he has rejected her, and is, in fact, resigned to being the "Last Son of Krypton."
Award winning journalist and novelist. Clark Kent was born in Smallville, Kansas, where he grew up on his family's farm. He played football in high school, Following his graduation from high school, Kent wandered the world for a while, but finally attended Metropolis University. He became the protégé of world-famous journalist: Simone D'neige, in Paris.
Kent's first journalism job was with the Daily Planet, where he had the honor of getting the first full length story on Superman. He has a reputation for getting many of the stories about Superman. He has won numerous journalism awards, and has published three novels.
Kent's reporting has frequently gotten him into trouble. Following his series which brought down Intergang, Intergang put a contract out on him. His apartment was bombed, and Kent was presumed dead, but it turned out he had been in hiding. During the destruction of Metropolis by Doomsday, Kent was again presumed dead, missing in the rubble. However, shortly after Superman's return, he was found trapped in an old fallout shelter. Conduit (Kenny Braverman) was a childhood friend of Kent's, and, spurred by jealousy, tried to kill Kent and all of Kent's friends during his reign of terror in Metropolis. Once again, Kent went into hiding until Superman stopped Conduit. Kent is married to fellow Daily Planet journalist, Lois Lane. They live at 1938 Sullivan Place, Metropolis. They have no children.
