Vurb founding members Robert Johnson Jr.(College Guy) and Sheaman Austin(I.V.League) met while in a youth group for the houston Area Urban League.
Robert Johnson and Ced White(Tankulous) were already related and met each other while at NorthShore high.
A singing duo that went around wherever singing and whenever they could.
One day while at a youth meeting I put on some old school Marvin Gaye"After the Dance".
We all were around 16 so most of the kids didn't kow the song.
We were showcasing our talent only to be joined by the then 13 year old Austin.
He impressed us so much that I asked my mentor for his number.
We called and told him we would be in a talent show at the next youth conference.
The only problem is that we already had a song and most people didn't know this song either.
Young Austin did and he had the song on que.
Impressed again the road together begin as a trio.
We ended up finishing better than expected winning over the fans mostly ladies.
Tankulous then went off to school and College Guy then too,but a bond had been set.I.V. League became the sole soul producer for the three.
College Guy took his little brothers compositions around Houston and he got the same response.
What do we do with this can he be like Mannie Fresh,Timberland,Roc Wilder?
Though he could have sold out for the money ,he stayed true to the roots.
That's what started Tokyo Rose Productions, but do to Goverment sanctions the name had to be changed.
So creative but, baffled they went back to thinking and by that time transition had spread the gang out.
Faulty dealings with other groups and labels left them with nothing ,but each other.
Life decisions once again hornest the group.I.V. League true to his name had many offers for college.UCLA, Stanford,Baylor, Princeton just to name a few. College guy meanwhile had changes to a newly married man.
Shady people again brought them closer I.V. League came home from college to attend Uof H.
College meanwhile worked for the state and there is where he started writing hip hop lyrics.
Everyone agreed he should be an MC he was skeptical though,
but I.V. League agreed.
Working tirelessly on thier craft while other artist wanted to collab with I.V. League he remembered who was there from day one.
