I was raised on Led Zepelin, James Taylor, Stevie Ray Vaughn, a lot of old blues and the Andy Griffith show. I was angry and cried when I found out Kurt Cobain was dead. I felt like fighting when I heard Rage Against the Machine for the first time, and by the time I wanted to be a musician I was soaking up Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains and alot of other 90's music like a skinny, long haired sponge wearing flannel. My listening pleasures have changed somewhat to people like Jeremy Camp, John Mayer, Switchfoot, Chris Tomlin, Anberlin, Falling Up, Mute Math, Blindside.
Daniel Robbins, the only child of a couple of hippies, the father of two, the husband of one, and the eater of raisin bran (it'll make ya do right ;). Daniel was born in Natchez, Mississippi and moved to Charlottesville, Virginia around the age of 5. Raised by his dad, an accomplished blues musician, he was around music and musicians most of his life. Hanging out at band rehearsals during the week and falling asleep in various music establishments on weekends while listening to dad rip it up on stage. It usually paid off with a free hamburger and soda though. Daniel started playing guitar and writing his own songs around the age of 13 and has been involved in quite a few projects over the years. Several notable moments were: Being spotlighted on a local DFW radio show called Spin 180 and performing live on the radio, Playing at the Texas Motor Speedway, Playing with award winning christian recording artist Dan Dean of Phillips, Craig, and Dean; Playing with christian recording artist Rhonda Gunn as well as a handful of other touring christian artists that made their way on the stage at Heartland Church in Irving, Texas where Daniel served on the worship and fine arts team for nearly 10 years, and an occaisional t.v. appearance here and there with the Heartland worship team. Daniel, although a guitarist by hereditary default, has also become a talented vocalist, using his talents in the local church to help lead people into a place of deep, intimate worship of the Lord God. However, Daniel's songs range from wide spectrum of topics from spiritual revelations to the many dynamic aspects of the human experience to songs about people in his life, so be careful or you could wind up in a song! Daniel is currently working on writing and recording new songs and forming a new band. Daniel now serves at "The Church at the Cross" in Grapevine, Texas and will be helping with writing and recording a new modern worship album with them. It will rock. Stay tuned to hear new recordings and news as they are being added.
