MABON T-SHIRTS AND HOODIES ALONG WITH A NEW BOOK OF 60+ TUNES COMPOSED BY JAMIE SMITH NOW AVAILABLE FROM WWW.MABON.ORG
Jamie Smith’s marriage of original, beautifully crafted tunes with influences from across the whole spectrum of celtic and european musical expressions, has ensured that the growing army of MABON fans - audiences and promoters alike - have been heralding the band as the antidote to a musical vacuum currently deemed to be aflicting the celtic music genre.
Throughout Britain, Europe and further afield, the band has been blitzing audiences: grand outdoor spectaculars in France, folk festivals in the UK, delirious allcomers in Mexico, forest parks in Italy, stadiums in Australia and castles in Poland.
A dynamic, groove laden and connecting live show has been honed with patience and graft, enabling audiences to embrace the music and enjoy the passion, brilliance and verve the band bring to a stage. MABON, a six-piece band of exemplary musicians, packed with attitude and joy, are determined to grab possession of audiences and take them to a musical party they are not likely to forget. Whether seated or standing, concerts never fail to ignite audiences, with opportunities to join in, dance, or just watch in wonderment as the music unfurls before them.
In the magicalities of a could, Between the probabilities of a would, Beyond the trivialities of a should, In these ungraspable mysticalities There lies a secret a passage… To this extraordinary wood.
But for you, it unfolds easily and true And the only thing you have to do Is press play, and you’ll have a view.

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
